Guest guest
The brown around the gum line is the beginning of decay. My daughter had 2 root canals and 4 stainless steel caps placed under general anesthesia at age 4. From now on, I would highly suggest that you (not he) brush his teeth. My daughter had sensitivities and we didn't push the toothbrush issue as much as we should have. After the root canals, I just put her in the " dental position " with her head in my lap and brushed her teeth thoroughly regardless of her screaming. In about 2 weeks, she stopped screaming and it became a routine where I would count to 40 while brushing. So when I reached 40, she knew I was done. You should brush (for at least 2 minutes) and floss his teeth twice a day. Anything he does on his own is just for fun/practice. We stopped using Weleda 'cause it wasn't protecting her teeth and switched to Spry tooth gell for babies. It has xylitol which works as well as fluoride. I wouldn't get fluoride treatment because it is neurotoxic. Dental cleaning/check up is fine but it doesn't replace good oral hygiene (you brushing and flossing his teeth). It's good to take care of any decay/cavity as soon as possible before it gets big(not what we did). Composite fillings are fine. Also avoid giving him any further sticky foods like raisins unless you brush and floss immediately after. Good luck. Guest guest
The brown around the gum line could also be bismuth toxicity. This can be a sign of high bismuth, I have read. Guest guest
Hi there: I just got back from meeting with my son's pediatric dentist. They are special ordering a composite for me based on results from Clifford Researching, a blood test that indicates sensitivites to substances. Surprisingly, had my son not tested sensitive to aluminum, that would have been used in his treatment. So please be careful and ask for MSDS for the composites as well as the bonding agent. The bonding agent they were going to use had aluminum and fluoride in it. Now, my dentist is going to investigate other options. I'll post with what she finds.
