Guest guest
Hi Jenna, Giving the probiotics can cause a " die-off " of the yeast, temporarily causing behavior problems. Our little one was at her meanest as the yeast was leaving. I am shocked by the full time school day for three year olds. I have said for some time now that they won't stop until they get the baby from the hospital. Way too early for my liking to be away from the parents' but much better to innudate and brainwash them with what the government wants them to do, enough of my rant. We have a great UK board called www. I hope this works, if not let me know and I'll get you in touch with the moderator to invite you to the group. They have all the information on how to get help and which drs to use in the UK. You can read the files of this group and the UK to familiarize yourself with what has been helpful for a lot of our kids. My advice is just to read and read and read some more and ask lots of questions. A hearty welcome to you and Jack. Good luck, [ ] intoducing Jack Hello, I'm Jenna and Have 2 lovely children Jack & Bea. Jack is my concern. I'm from northern NJ and noticed early on, " differences " between Jack and other children- Lack of eye contact & delayed speech at the beginning. As time passed I could notice other things even as his speech and vocabulary improved, Jack still had trouble really expressing himself. When playing with other children, he would simply run around and 'bump' them. He thought it was great fun, but other, especially smaller children didn't always appreciate this. Jack's pre-school teacher was actually a great help. She apparently had a sister involved in special ed/needs and they would share information and techniques. Jack's Doctors' (whom I really do like) seem to dismiss my thoughts of mild autism rather quickly. Mostly because he does show affection, he does have empathy for others, and does share his excitement & will share in others' excitement. As I've researched, I've found there are many children like Jack, and that there are many differences in definitions. OK, so now we have relocated to the UK for a few years (hubby got an opportunity with his company, and we though hey - why not!) First thing that caught me off guard, They start reception (kindergarten) the year the will turn 4 (yes, that means some, like my neighbors daughter will be in full-time school, 9-3:30, while she is still 3 years old!) So Jack is now in full time school, I wasn't too scared, he always did enjoy pre-school, off he went. But I knew I really had to get on the ball, and find out what was making Jack different. I kept doing my research, and discovered the yeast problems, and everything it can cause. Now wanting to help, but not go overboard, I started giving him some pro-biotics. Nothing hardcore, just 1 chewable a day. I did eventually discover the whole mercury-yeast-autism connection, but didn't think what I was doing would really hurt anything. Wrong. Jack has really regressed. His melt-downs are more frequent, he is 'checking-out' a lot more. Jack even seems to be a bit violent. I know the long days at school were starting to tire him out, but I don't think that explains everything I'm seeing happening to him. Finally...my question. Would this bring you to the conclusion that mercury is definitely involved here? I think I may have started to kill off the yeast, and freed up more mercury. I have made a doctors appt, in hopes of getting a referral to someone who can actually help dx him. I'm just hoping I can find a doctor who is experienced with chelation. If anybody has any thoughts or comments I would love to hear it, especially if there is anybody here in the UK, what paths have you gone down? Thanks for listening - Jenna
