Guest guest
Yes, it does, thank you, Re: [ ] ANDY/Adrenal supp ? Hi! - Not Andy, here, of course. But since I'm one of the folks working on this topic, I hope Andy makes it clear that using dessicated adrenal products - of any kind - runs the risks of : 1) being too much or too little support. 2) including undesirable ingredients - epinephrines (Yikes!)or echinacea (allergies) 3) being an unknown quantity that is hard to duplicate or utilize INTELLIGENTLY - in an informed way. 4) requiring careful tapering (which may or may not be effectively accomplished with the original product) to avoid potential reactions of adrenal insufficiency. 5) if there is a sufficiently high (unknown, remember?) dose for long enough there can be side effects that accompany an (accidental) pharmacological (rather than low physiological) dose of cortisol. This HIGH dose can EVEN result suppression of the adrenals which can - again at HIGH DOSES- cause secondary ADDISON'S disease. *For the same reasons that Andy suggests using a KNOWN, SAFE, dose of chelator, it is reasonable to suggest a KNOWN, SAFE dose of adrenal support. * ** Hope This Helps, ... Hi , Where did you find the above information and did you find out how much of the various hormones is in adrenal cortex extract? I expect that the amounts would be different depending on the manufacturer? I am surprised that the powers that control these things (whoever they are) would let ACE on the market if it contains cortisol. Guest guest
Hi , Not , but if you run a google search like " adrenal cortex extract cortisol " , you will find the same language over and over. It appears that it is impossible to find out how much of each hormone are in the OTC adrenal cortex extracts. That is one of the reasons some people opt for the Isocort, which is known to have 2.5 mgs of cortisol per pill. I have no idea what the content of the other hormes are in Isocort though.
