Guest guest
Yes, three reasons to stop a round: A fever of 101 or higher Vomiting Lethargy Hope your little guy feels better. [ ] My Son's 2nd Round -- Problems -- Advice Please We are on my son's (5y.o. and 38lbs) 2nd round of chelation. In this round, we introduced ALA. We are giving 10mg DMSA + 10mg ALA every 3.5 hours (we put the mixture into apple juice). We have run into the following problems: On day 2 he has a 102 degree fever. We gave him Advil. Was this appropriate? Should we stop chelation? Also, he seems to be throwing up his chelators. What should I do? Should I be using a transdermal form of DMSA? Is their a transdermal form of ALA available? Please advise. Thanks. Abid =======================================================
Guest guest
Abid, The exact same thing happened to us when we accidentally gave our daughter too much chelator...25 mg of each instead of our regular 12.5mg. Within hours she had a fever and threw up. You actually might need to lower the dose even more. For the first few rounds though, even though she didn't throw up, she did get a slight fever. It would only last 24-36 hours and then be done. I think it's a pretty common side effect. She was also somewhat lethargic and sleepy the whole round. Now that we're on round 31, that's not a problem any more. I would say those side effects ended around round 20. Not sure about the Motrin. We never used it. Guest guest
, For Round 1, we gave 10mg DMSA only and he did fine. I added the ALA now and he has a fever and doesn't want to eat anything -- we stopped chelating. What should I do now? Should I eliminate the ALA? Should I reduce the total dosage of ALA & DMSA? julieobradovic@... wrote: Abid, The exact same thing happened to us when we accidentally gave our daughter too much chelator...25 mg of each instead of our regular 12.5mg. Guest guest
, What do you advise I do next? I stopped chelating. Should I restart with a lower dosage? Eliminate the ALA? Thanks. Guest guest
try this website... http://www.ourkidsasd.com/ they have TD of just about everything...it is Lee Silsby Compounding Pharmacy. I have been using them since November...they have TD B-12, ALA, DMSA and I've also ordered LDN in a TD form. I have only tried the Dmsa and the B-12 so far...without any problems. Oh yeah, I did TD-dmps as well. Good luck! > Yes, three reasons to stop a round: > > A fever of 101 or higher > Vomiting > Lethargy > > Hope your little guy feels better. > > > [ ] My Son's 2nd Round -- Problems -- Advice Please > > > > We are on my son's (5y.o. and 38lbs) 2nd round of chelation. Guest guest
I hope you got my email. When I started chelating my son with TD DMSA I was dumb enough to do it on a 48 hour protocol, even though I started using DMPS orally for myself in a 8 hour protocol. As a result, by the third aplication, my son had a low grade fever, was listless, mostly unresponding to his surroundings, and eventually vomited, which caused my husband to forcefully suspend chelation even though I thought he was having a virus. He was right. These three symptoms are signs of acute mercury posioning. And he was getting the acute poisoning through redistribution. Your son having a low fever and vomit could just be a virus, but there are two red flags, one is that he had no problems when he chelated with DMSA only, the other red flag is that, from your post, it seems you have been giving ALA every 3.5 hours. This will cause redistribution and thus the symptoms you are seeing. ALA 1/2 life is a little under 3 hours, it is OK to give ALA every 4 hours at night to get some sleep, but giving the complete round every 3.5 hours is obviously not good for your child. I am glad you stopped. Wait a few days and see how your son reacts. In a few days too you can start chelating again, try giving the ALA every 3 hours (I do it at night too), and hopefully all will go well. Guest guest
, He has never had amalgam fillings. I'm not sure how to determine if he is high on copper. According to his hair test, he was in the green for this -- so he may have normal copper.
