Guest guest
I agree with the sentiment, but actually the greater risk in women comes from heterosexual sex. Jim ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Jan Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 5:42 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Vaccines for older typical child DON'T do it~ Hep is only necessary if she is planning on having gay sex or becoming an IV drug user. The HPV shot is bogus and has not been around long enough to prove safety. You can prevent the contraction of HPV by simply using a condom..which all single people should be anyway...with all the other disease out there. Also, many strains of HPV do not cause cancer. HPV is treatable via antivirals. There is a lot of junk in these vaccines in addition to the viruses. Read the ingredients list available from the manufacturer. My dad had that Hep series from his job back when it first came out, and he got really sick. He never recovered entirely and his health has done nothing but decline over the years following those shots. Never give in to anything that you do not completely beleive in. A healthy 17 year old does not need these immune insults. At at what cost to her future health? Vaccines are responsible for autoimmune disease, and other things. Tetanus does not need to be given unless and only if she is actually injured to a degree that would warrant concern. Such as a deep wound that got dirt in it. And as I have read it, there are natural ways to combat tetanus if one did get it. Which is almost never in the modern age of cleaning wounds. Personally, the risk of your child getting any of the disease these vaccine are supposed to fix are nil. I would read more on what is really in vaccines...this alone changed my mind. Especially if you have a child on the spectrum. This gives higher risk to her getting damage or sick from more vaccines. > > Hi, > I have a 17 year old that is typical and an 11 year old child with autism and vaccine related issues(MMR). Guest guest
They tried this with my daughter a couple of years ago.The vaccines that they wanted her to get didn't make any sense.Like one of them was for pertussis and she already had all those vaccines when she was little. The reason is that those vaccines do not give lifetime immunity. The colleges and some high schools are having outbreaks of whooping coughs so they are now trying to require the kids to get more vaccines. I stopped vaccinating my younger children after what happend to my son but my older kids had already had their vaccines and this new requirement upset me because I was afraid to have her get anymore vaccines. I know that some doctors offices will order the single vaccines instead of the dpt but my doctor wrote a note saying that she was vaccinated years ago with the dpt and it would be dangerous to give her another triple vaccine just to get vaccinated for one virus. Her doctor said that he didn't repeat vaccines on a whim.I sent a note from her doctor saying that they would not give her anymore vaccines as it was not deemed necessary. The school did not give me a hard time, they just put the note on file. Is the situation that she already had these as well and they want her to get more? Unless these vaccines are required by law then they can't enforce the issue. I know with my daughter's school they were just trying to do this of their own accord to avoid an outbreak at the school, but it is not the law right now that college student's get another pertussis vaccine so they did not push the issue with us. Either way, you should be able to get a waiver. There are plenty online that you can print out and give to the school. Good luck with it. phyllis KIZNER <cureasd@...> wrote: My 18 year old will be attending college in the fall and they are saying certain vaccines are mandatory. due to the vaccine related issues that my son has, I don't want her to have any more vaccines. does anyone know about getting a vaccine waiver, mainly for the hep b series, for college? thanks, Phyllis M. Guest guest
Private or state college? Go to http://www.nvic.org or http://www.thinktwice.com and find out what your state (or the college's state) allows for exemptions. Use that exemption. If a private college they may say that they don't accept the state exemption. If so, check with Cindee Gardner, http://www.cindeegardner.com for homeopathic alternatives to the vaccines they are requesting. See if they will accept those. We went through this with daughter #1 at a private college that said they didn't accept state exemptions and the vaccines were mandatory. We ended up getting them to accept both the state exemption and the homeopathic alternative. We used the book " Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective " by Neil Z. , available at Think Twice, to give them more info about the dangers of the vaccines they were requesting and why we wouldn't get them for our daughter. If they are being a pain, just keep pushing up the chain of command until you can have an audience with someone who has the ability to change or bypass the policy. Many vaccines are recommended by the college accreditation board for the " safety " of all students. We started with the school nurse, who was a real #^@*( & $(#. When we didn't like her answer. She got very ANGRY and abusive and just dug in. So, we asked who was above her, and started working our way up. If we got a " definitely not " we just asked who the person's superior was, until we finally got all the way to the assistant to the man who was #2 under the president of the college. We are getting ready to do the same battle again, but administration has changed. So, I hope that it has changed for the better regarding vaxing. If you need any info, or want to talk, you can e-mail me privately. I'll be a shoulder when you need it, if you need it. Hopefully, just claiming the exemption will work. Guest guest
It seems the study done to test the safety of the cervical cancer vaccine was about as scientific and reliable as the 1920's thimerosal saftey study (ie not remotely valid). And some question if there is any real evidence that the vaccine will even work. The placebo used was not even blank it was loaded with aluminum and other things. From the article reported by : " Aluminum hydroxide is what's know as an adjuvant - it stimulates immune response. Studies in both animals and humans found that aluminum adjuvants can cause death of brain cells. Similar studies have also shown that aluminium adjuvants in vaccines can cross the blood-brain barrier, as well as cause injection-site inflammation leading to chronic joint and muscle pain and fatigue. Aluminium adjuvants have never been subjected to clinical trials for safety. Read that again: Although he metal has been used in vaccines for decades, it has never been rigorously studied for long-term safety. " " ... a reactive placebo artificially decreases the appearance of danger of an experimental vaccine in a clinical trial because the drug company only has to prove that adverse events weren't statistically significant in the vaccine group versus the placebo group. So using aluminium containing placebos falesly inflates the adverse-event data of the 'placebo' group, making the vaccine look relatively safe by comparison. " " Clinical trial investigators dismissed most of the 102 serious adverse events including the 17 deaths that occured in the clinical trials as unrelated to the study. " " Nearly 90% of all Gardasil recipients and 85% of those who received the 'placebo' reported on or more adverse events within 15 days of vaccination. " Dr Clayton Young (board certified obstetrician gynaecologist, Texas): " There is absolutely no evidence that the vaccine prevents anything when administered at this young age. " " A place on the childhood vaccination schedule means a steady and exponentially larger revenue stream. Financial analysts predict Gardasil could be Merck's most important pipeline contributor to top-line growth, with peak sales of at least $2 billion - revenue Merck badly needs after the Vioxx scandals. That revenue figure assumes that Gardasil will be required for school admittance. " So is it really a my$tery why this product is being pushed. But you don't have to take Suzanne 's word for it. Why don't you ask everyone up the chain from your pediatrician right up to the CEO of Merck to provide you with evidence of the vaccine's safety? I only wish I could be there to see their reactions when you begin to question them. Guest guest
Most colleges allow the standard state exemption. You can look it up for the state your college is in or your state at http://www.nvic.org BUT if it is a private college, you may have to go through a bit more. We had to go through climbing the hierarchical ladder for our daughter who went to a private college. We finally got almost to the top and had a case built against the vaccine they wanted her to get (MMR) and had done homeopathic alternatives (http://www.cindeegardner.com) AND had a signed letter noting the state exemption that we required to take. It was a process, but worth it. If the college says they don't accept the state exemptions, then ask a couple important questions to get the ball rolling: " Who has the right to change policy or override policy " and " Who is you direct superior so I may take the issue up with them. " They may fudge and try not to answer either, wanting to feel they are the all powerful Oz, as was the school nurse who first informed us of the need for another MMR for our daughter. But, you can push the issue. If the first person won't give you the answer, you might be able to trace the flow from bottom to top starting with admissions. Don't tell the person who answers the phone why you are calling, just ask who the head of admissions is and then leave a voice mail that you have a question which couldn't be answered you would like them to address (I'm assuming that you will get voice mail) and give them call back info. Then start there and go up. You might be able to just ask the college's policy on vaccine exemption. Also, it might be easier if you can address it as a potential future student's parent, not as your daughter is going through admissions right now - that way it won't reflect on your daughter. There are many parents who don't vaccinate or completely vaccinate, so you might be able to get the policy without alerting them to your daughter's situation. I have even been known to call from a number that has caller ID blocked or can't be traced to me to do legwork for such things. One thing I learned from our experience with the " college that has never allowed vaccine exemption " was that you can get more info from them if they think you are a future problem, not a current one. FYI - Our daughter was the 1st vaccine exemption this 30+ year old college ever admitted, and it was worth it to her and them (she graduated with top honors and as the top senior in her major). Hope something there helps. P. phyllis KIZNER wrote: > > does anyone know how to go about getting a vaccine exemption from a > college? Guest guest
LInda, thank you so much for the information,. guess I have to start working on it right now. both schools she is considering are private. One is in Mass and one in RI. It is the Hep B series that she hasn't had yet and I don't want her to have it. I heard that this vaccine is for those that are sexually promiscuous or drug users which I can say she is neither. She is already enrolled in both schools (yes, she needs to decide which one) so I guess that would make her a current problem. I have the phone number for one school's health dept so I would start there instead of admissions as they would be worthless. thanks, Phyllis M. Guest guest
We phrased it as a necessity, because our children come from a family with known complications from vaccines. We never had any problems. Barb Re: [ ] Re: Vaccines for older typical child Most colleges allow the standard state exemption. Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, We started at the health department too. But, ended up at admissions, then worked our way up the ladder to upper administration. Ended up two officers down from the President before we finally got the green light for her to come to campus the day of move-in! It was a long road, but worth it. Good luck in the process. A good book we used to help make our case to the school was Neil Z. 's " Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective. " It is very well footnoted with scientific and gov't documents referenced. You can buy it at http://www.thinktwice.com (not at Amazon as they don't seem to have the most current version). We are getting ready to do the same again with a son who wants to attend the same college. They too have added Hep B as well as meningitis vax to their requirements. So, he'll be short MMR, Hep B, HiB and whatever their calling the meningitis one. I found that the college board which accredits recommends them, and the schools just follow that recommendation. If it helps, we caught our college on a loophole too. They said they didn't accept the state exemptions, but then turned around and said they wouldn't accept homeopathic alternatives because the state didn't accept them. That two sided policy helped us, as did presenting a well laid out case for why we specifically didn't want our daughter to get the vaccines. She had also already contracted whooping cough as a vaccinated child; she had had her DPTs. I'm sure that didn't hurt our case either.
