S S
Hi , it's late for me, and I've not posted in so long that I've forgotten how to the entire group, so I'll answer you and if you think it will be helpful to anyone, could you post it? >How are you testing/re-testing? Not challenge tests, I hope. What dose and dosing schedule are you using? How much does your child weigh? I presume he has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings?! What are you seeing behaviorally? It often takes about 10 rounds of 3 days on and at least as many off to start seeing results in one your child's age.
S S *I don't know what challenge tests are. Sounds bad.... *We have a DAN doctor, very accessible and likes it when I send him reasonable items from this forum. Pretty cool huh, for a personal doctor... He attended the DAN conference in Seattle on Oct. 3, and tried to get me to go, but not this time. We first did a CBC to determine my DS's make up and what he'd need to prepare for the DMSA. We loaded him up for about two weeks, then did the 12 hour urine collection thing. It was sent out and we found him literally off the charts with Mercury. DS is about 65 lbs. 7 years old. He began 300 mg. 2X per day for 5 days. Then we skip two weeks, then 5 more days. We're almost ready to do the final series, but on the 4th day, we'll re-test his urine, then give the final dose on day 5. ***That's a challenge test with the high infrequent dosing and it runs a high risk of pushing mercury into his brain. Please read the FAQs of the autism treatment list and pass along the info about Andy Cutler's protocol to your doctor. Please don't do any more challenges. Appropriate dosing is 1/4-1/2 mg per lb and needs to be dosed according to the half life. *Mercury fillings: OK, this is pretty obscure, but I did read an article that stated Turret's sufferers, and, or AS may have horrible teeth. DS has displayed ticks for a couple of years, all different kinds. Funny thing, my girls, 15 and 12 have perfect teeth. My boys, 7 and 5 are through the roof! , 7 had 5 root canals by the time he was 6. Max, 5, had 4 by the time he was 4. Max had three teeth pulled as well, and one dying in the front that they want to pull. I checked with his (former) pediatric dentist and according to the chart, there is no mercury in his mouth. Just stainless steel. Same with Max. H-mmm. But I have tons in mine, so I took the test to see if I'm " mercury drunk " before spending the cash for beautiful new white fillings. While pregnant I took fish oil every day for both boys. I purchased vitamins from the food Co-Op (very health food-ish place. Lot's of dred locks there! LOL) Instead of getting the prescribed ones my insurance paid for. I wanted smart, healthy kids. (Plans of mice and men, eh?) They are smart, but the mercury in the fish oil may be the culprit. It wasn't purified in the 90's, who knew? And all that white Albacore tuna!*I think he has had fewer tantrums, but when he talks about not wanting to live and deserving to die, when he realizes he's done something wrong it tears my heart out. (and it can be any time, anything, it doesn't matter the degree of the transgression. It's random.) So there you have it . Thanks for asking. We're waiting for the second urine test, and we'll go from there. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!
