Guest guest
No, you can use melatonin for as long as you like, I have never seen a bottle with a warning like that. [ ] Bottle says no more than 2 weeks at a time for Melatonin Is that important to listen to? It is the only thing that is making , age 9, go to sleep. I should have tried this years ago. Now we are both easier to get along with. lol. If I should stop after 2 weeks what should I switch or alternate with? He already takes Natural Calm (magnesium) but that is really for BMs for him. I think sometimes he doesn't even realize that he should be tired, because I can write him a note telling him to turn off the tv/computer and tell him that he is sleepy and he should go to bed. Sometimes it works after a while. Other times he will lay on the bed, give you a kiss, then get back up to play. The melatonin is the only thing that works 100%. Guest guest
We've used it for a long time, you're right that's the only thing. Sometimes though we stop giving it for the weekends and continue the next week. > > Is that important to listen to? It is the only thing that is making > , age 9, go to sleep. Guest guest
Same here, 1.5 mgs for one year solid. One of the best supplements we tried, wonderful brain antioxidant. Guest guest
Hello, Just thought I would chime in here....We have been using melatonin for YEARS for all three of our three children, all of whom are affected from one degree to another. This has been one of the best choices we have made on products through the years. I would not hesitate...and do not hesitate to use this every night. None of my children are on pharmaceuticals, but trust me there are many doctors who would not hesitate to keep them on a variety of meds. the rest of their life. There have been nights that we do skip, not very often. No doubt that a good nights sleep goes a long way when it comes to recovery too. I think, at least with my children, that they heal " better " when they get their sleep. Debbie tstak2 <tstak2@...> wrote: We've used it for a long time, you're right that's the only thing. Guest guest
>Our DAN did not hesitate to prescribe melatonin, with no 2 wk limit imposed. However here in the UK we have a funny position where melatonin is not actually a presciption only medication (it is not in the BNF), but you don't appear to be able to buy it over the counter. Our DAN spoke positively about the antioxidants, but I know that in mainstream paediatrics/psychiatry it is very rarely prescribed, I presume they think it will over sedate a child, or be abused. When it is used, I think they expect it to be short lived, ie. to get the child into a good habit. If anyone has a good handle on the UK position, I would be interested to understand better. Guest guest
Far safer than what most people are using to get to sleep or put their kids to sleep. Most people I talk to rely on Tylenol Pm to get to sleep. Or some prescription. For kids they put them on meds. I did research melatonin before we starting using it and it seems safer than anything else. It's not addictive and doesn't change your body from making it's own melatonin. Just supplements those of us who don't make enough of it due to illness. But no bottles with warnings here...maybe a UK reg or something. > > > >Our DAN did not hesitate to prescribe melatonin, with no 2 wk limit > imposed.
