yeast fighters increasing yeast?

I have begun trying the treatments I foist upon my little guy, so I started

SCD almost 2 mos. ago (OK, so I've privately cheated a few times).

Because of massive doses of multiple antibiotics a few years ago and

carb/sugar cravings, I decided to do a yeast protocol. I did 2 weeks of Uva

Ursi and then 2 weeks of Candidase (w/1 Virastop per dose, as recommended on

the Candidase bottle). I also used probiotics throughout, and some homemade

goat yogurt a la SCD.

After the U.U. & a few weeks into SCD, I began to have some places of

peeling skin on my hands/fingers and also a rash (sort of looks like diaper

rash?) in private areas, front & back. I have never had the peeling thing,

and haven't had anything like a yeast infection in at least a decade or two.

I didn't even connect the 2 symptoms. Well, it's been about a month, and

finally called the OB/GYNs office today, as symptoms down below have gotten

worse rather than better. They suspect yeast & have called in a scrip.

QUESTION: How on earth would I have gotten a yeast infection (which I

haven't had in MANY years) while doing yeast protocol?? I know antivirals

can cause yeast flares, but I was only having 3 VS per day for a short time,

and was taking 6 Candidase at the same time. Maybe I threw off the balance

of flora. Or does the whole thing sound like something else entirely to any

of you?

Thanks for any insight. The whole thing just made me wonder anew about all

this tinkering with my little guy's flora in the form of antifungals,

probiotics, antivirals, etc.
