Guest guest
Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that can't swallow pills. We have tried the lemon flavored nordic naturals and several other brands that are supposed to taste better. My kids are extremely sensitive to tastes and I can't seem to make my 3 year old swallow his. I have even ordered the oralflo cup, but he won't even try it. I can't disguise the taste in anything and I know they desperately need these supplements. What should I do? Thanks,
Guest guest
We used to do back rubs etc - rub on anywhere - after baths. I stinks up the sheets and pjs but our daughter's omega 3 level were great. We still do EPO topically as she can't tolerate it or any others geared to omega 6 deficeincy orally. > > Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that > can't swallow pills. Guest guest
The best tasting CLO/fish oils that I've ever tried are Carlson's. They have a lemon flavoured high EPA oil called " Very Finest Fish Oil " and a lemon flavoured CLO. Nordic Naturals is a good brand, but their products do taste fishy in comparison. I can detect fishy smells from across a room and these really don't (or shouldn't, if they are fresh) have any fishy taste or odour. take care René > > Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that > can't swallow pills. Guest guest
I pierce the softgel and squirt it in my baby's mouth. I also mix it in her other supplements and syringe it in her mouth. She doesn't like it, but she does take it without commotion. Wyndie
Guest guest
I give my kids the Nordic Naturals Children's DHA that are tiny little spheres that smell and taste like strawberry. My 12 month old loves them and has been able to take them since he was 8 months old. He kind of busts them in his mouth. The outer covering is a translucent gelatine-type that gets slippery in their mouth and is not hard to swallow. They are also very pretty, like golden orbs. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
We use Berry Keen by Nordic Naturals and to me it doesn't even smell fishy. My son takes it no problem Kerrie
Guest guest
Here's some ideas. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/about/buttons/taking_supplements.html Best for us - blended in juice so it's emulsified. After it's gone he gets 4 NN Children's DHA as a reward! > > Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that > can't swallow pills. Guest guest
We use Forti Flax organic cold pressed flaxseed, and sprinkle it on thier oatmeal. Bake it into cookies, or anything they will eat. My 3 year old doesn't even know it is in there. And it is a great source of Omega's. Check the website for Barlean's Organic Oils. It does come in a liquid but it is easy to hide the flaxseed, rather than the oil. It eally doesn't have much taste. This might be a great option until your child is old enough to take the fish oils. Flax is an acceptable alterantive source of EFA's without the odor/flavors. > > Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that > can't swallow pills. Guest guest
My daughter takes it in apple juice with spectrum support II. It tastes like lemon/orange flavored juice. I mix the oil as I give it to her in a measuring spoon or syringe (cannot see the oil very well). cindy_wrn <cindy_wrn@...> wrote: Does anyone have any tips for getting omegas into kids 3 and under that can't swallow pills.
