Guest guest
So I've been looking into nutritional supplements for my very speech-delayed three year old boy. He had blood tests for lead, CDC and metablolic analysis. All clean there. I'm also getting him a hair sample test. That's in process. Also have a consult with a pediatric neurologist scheduled. And he's been in speech therapy once a week for about 5 months now. In the meantime ... I'm looking to affect as much change as I can with nutrition. I've been looking at things: 1. Coromega Omega-3 supplements http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=57571 & catid=2652 & aid=333840 & apara\ m=y3mfX31U70A-LVA78WhEkdHkG4aq_65nbg Anybody used this and had either any success or watchouts for it? 2. Extreme Health " Natural " Oral Chelation http://www.extremehealthusa.com/ingredients.html I quote " natural " because it contains a " proprietary blend " of EDTA. This part I am not sure about at all. I realize that EDTA is the actual chelating agent - the molecular agent that attaches itself to metal molecules - but it is definitely not natural. It's a synthetic composite of formaldehyde and arsenic, using in industrial application for chelation of metals in bulk products like paper. It seems counter intuitive to me to put one kind of poison in my child's body (arsenic) to battle another poison (mercury). Is this not just adding fuel to the fire? Anybody have any thoughts on that? The rest of the ingredients on that product look good. Has anybody found a supplement product that contains all those other elements without the EDTA? I'm trying to avoid having to give my son a dozen different vitamins and supplements each day. Thanks for any ideas you have. Dan
