B6 raises the need for magnesium, which, if low will cause bedwetting. We have

forgotten this important rule a few times.

Try adding some magnesium, the bedwetting should stop.

[ ] 5htp or GABA side effects

Are there any side effects to taking 5htp or GABA? My son has been

bedwetting shortly after he began taking them.

I give him Dr's Best 5htp w/B6 & Calcium about 1/8 capsule and Kirkman

GABA also 1/8 capsule 2x a day each. Morning and Evening. Than I

tried Morning and late afternoon. We started just recently, so he has

not been on it for too long (maybe 2 weeks).

Has anyone had similiar side effects? Or is this not a side effect?

Thanks so much for any help or ideas!!

, I just wanted to thank you for this tip. You also posted it

a week or two ago, when I was working on getting my daughter's supps

going for chelation. She started having a lot of accidents, I upped

the magnesium, and presto! problem solved. Makes me wonder how many

poor kids out there are getting in trouble all the time for wetting

their pants, when really they just need more magnesium.

thanks

Rene,

Glad it helped. I learned this when my dd was about 4 years old. She was potty

trained early and easily, but at 4, still wet the bed at night a couple of times

a week. The pediatrician assured me nothing was wrong and said it was a matter

of deep sleeping and a lack of muscle control.

In her case it was not an excess of B6, but an overabundance of calcium from all

the raw milk and wonderful homemade cheese that our Amish neighbors supplied as

calcium can also crowd out magnesium. If you think about it there are more than

a few foods with high calcium, but soil east of the Mississippi is deficient in

magnesium so very little in foods.

I read somewhere shortly after that a magnesium deficiency can cause bedwetting.

Same here, 4 days after supplementing with magnesium, the night time bedwetting

stopped cold and never returned. I never knew whether it was a coincidence or

not, but I know now.
