Guest guest
Hi Jan, Still sounds like yeast to me. We always knew yeast was a problem when she couldn't settle down and go to sleep at night even when tired. Give more yeast stuff. I wish now I would have bought stock in a probiotic company. This is how chelation goes. Some stuff gets better, some gets worse. Some gets better, then fades, back and forth and back and forth. We laughed here because in the beginning she had hypersensitive hearing. It would leave for a month, someone would say that it was nice it was gone, and then it would come back. This must have happened three times until it left for good. Is he going to a regular preK or a special needs? Whether it is either, no doubt they are aware of his strengths and weaknesses, just mention it casually (yea right!) and let them take care of it. You'd be surprised at all the tricks those teachers have up their sleeves. Quite remarkable to watch them, and I spent many hours watching her in preschool as they had one of those neat little one way mirrors. If he's anything like ours, he'll make you sweat it out til about two days before school and then put his clothes on and never do it again. [ ] odd change in behaviors following round 9? My son finished round 9 of dmsa/ala. We have had yeast issues off and on. But no other noted effects. He is showing improvments with/following each round. He tends to get a bit crabby on the first day but we have accepted this. Since his last round he has reverted back to not wearing clothes when at home. This might be tolerable except that he is always touching his privates. They do not look irritated or rashey etc. He is on 1/2 tablet of GSE twice a day, probiotics and the rest of the supps. He has also been having problems with his temper, non compliance, hitting his sister, etc. I have had to put him on melatonin since the last round, as it seems that his ability to fall asleep is no longer intacted for nighttime. He fidgits around and plays and just can't settle down until well after 10pm. I know he is tired, which might be adding to the day time temperament. I started the melatonin a few nights ago, as we are all exhausted here. And he is going to sleep better now. Any ideas on what is with the renewed need to be naked, and such? He used to avoid clothing before chelation began. Then after round one he wore it without objection. This probably would not be huge except he has to start Pre-K in a few weeks and nudity will not go over well there. Neither will pulling on ones privates all day. Guest guest
Thanks...I will up the GSE again. And its a regular pre-k, full day thingy. The district and doc's are wary of how he will do because it is a long day, and his impulse control is low, but they want to try it as it's one of the best pre-k programs. If he doesn't do well, then they will change him. Man, we can't seem to beat the yeast lately. Do you think I should skip chelation this week and go after yeast with a vengence and see how he is for next round? > > Hi Jan, > > Still sounds like yeast to me. Guest guest
I know I have heard others say that they did hold off to get the yeast under control, as a lot of yeast will mask progress. So he's still showing progress with lots of yeast, he must really be doing well. So, IMO, that is what I would do. Go get it. Good luck, [ ] odd change in behaviors following round 9? > > > My son finished round 9 of dmsa/ala. We have had yeast issues off > and on. But no other noted effects. Jan, a friend of mine who is chelating her son recently said she is staying on top of the yeast better by dosing less GSE, but dosing more frequently. Guest guest
Jan, Would he do just pants and no shirt or socks? My son was a real sensory kid but could tolerate the pants as long as he didn't need to do shirts. He usually goes without shirts at home. Barb [ ] odd change in behaviors following round 9? Guest guest
Jan This works better for us too - smaller, more frequent doses of GSE during the round. This is where the drops come in handy so you can easily give the smaller doses. Guest guest
We skipped underwear for several years, and always very loose cotton shirts (of course, no tags). > > > > Would he do just pants and no shirt or socks? > > My son was a real sensory kid but could tolerate the pants as long as he didn't need to do shirts. Guest guest
He will do a large shirt but no pants. However, this doesn't help limit his acess to the fun zone... Hopefully, it will pass soon.. > > Jan, > > Would he do just pants and no shirt or socks? > > My son was a real sensory kid but could tolerate the pants as long as he didn't need to do shirts. Guest guest
I will have to see what I can figure out, as he takes the tablets ground up in juice. And we cannot give it when we give probiotics, so that knocks out two of the four dosing times. I would have to put it in something. He won't take drops. Gee, maybe they should start to sell GSE gummi's! > > > > >He > > > is on 1/2 tablet of GSE twice a day, probiotics and the rest of > the > > > supps. > > > > Jan, a friend of mine who is chelating her son recently said she is > staying on top of the > > yeast better by dosing less GSE, but dosing more frequently. Guest guest
We went to no underwear for a few years when my son started taking them off and hiding them. Just pants (thin cotton) and very loose cotton shirts without tags. He also loved (still does at 12) any lightweight, silky material. Rayon Hawaiian shirts used to work pretty well. Maybe if you put him in something he like the feel of? -- In , " jromkema " <jromkema@...> wrote: > > Jan, > > Would he do just pants and no shirt or socks? > > My son was a real sensory kid but could tolerate the pants as long as he didn't need to do shirts. Guest guest
I usually mix 2-3 drops into the first nighttime chelation dose, then give a probiotic with the next night time dose. If you were able to divide your tablet into 3 or 4 sections instead of 2 then you might be able to do something like that. I find that giving some GSE during the night, instead of only during the day, is very helpful at keeping the yeast under control while on a round. Also, the gummies would be a big hit at my house! Guest guest
Oh, ok , that is similar to what we are doing. I grind up the tablets into powder and give some powder with each dose for the entire round. I then continue with regular GSE dosing when the round is over. I will try to give GSE more frequently when we are not on a round. I did up his tablets yesterday and we are noticing a difference in behavior. Maybe that's partly the melatonin allowing him to sleep at night too! Thanks for the suggestions. > > > > > > > > >He > > > > > is on 1/2 tablet of GSE twice a day, probiotics and the > rest > > of > > > the > > > > > supps. > > > > > > > > Jan, a friend of mine who is chelating her son recently said > she > > is > > > staying on top of the > > > > yeast better by dosing less GSE, but dosing more frequently. > > So, > > > instead of larger doses, > > > > 2x/day, going to smaller doses 4-5x/day. > > > > > > > > HTH, > > > > > > > > in Illinois > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
He was wearing the underwear and the pants without problem prior to the round. We do let him skip the underwear when he wants too. Mainly he will wear the pants to go outside, because he has to. But as soon as he comes in he takes all his clothes off, even socks. I noticed today after raising his GSE that he did wear the clothes for a longer period of time before ripping them all off when he was tired. I think he associates naked with comfortable. > >Jan, > I am sure you have thought of this but sometimes it was the underwear > that caused the problem.
