Guest guest
Maybe some cranberry juice would help? Barb [ ] Private Part May Hurt - Advice Needed Hi All, In the last three days, my 4.4 year old has told me once that his penis itched and once that his penis hurt. I don't think this is yeast. I am quite familiar with yeast in my little guy, and this does not seem to be that. I have gone through the onibasu archives and found references to the nitric oxide synthase isses and gallstones. Has anyone researched these enough to give me some kind of base to start from? Or have any other ideas? He has a history of playing with his penis (we joke that besides certain cognitive stuff, finding his privates was the only thing he did early) but it seems to have gotten much better with yeast management. Sorry this is so open ended.... Anne
Guest guest
I was think UTI also, you can get itching and pain with a UTI. Cranberry juice or d-mannose both work, but it's hard to find straight cranberry juice, without the sugar and high fructose corn syrup, which would create yeast, possibly. That sounds more plausible than gallstones, didn't know children could get gallstones. Hope your little guy feels better soon, Anne. Guest guest
In addition to cranberry (extract, dried fruit, or juice): If you try topical antibiotic ointment and it gets worse, it is most likely yeast. If it gets better, it is most likely an infection. If it is an infection, salt and/or vinegar in the bath water may help. (Give him toys in the bath and encourage him to play for 30 minutes to an hour.) Good luck, -- Michele in Limbo (formerly in California) talithamichele@... Guest guest
I've heard that cranberry juice once one already had a UTI doesn't help, but that one can drink it to prevent UTIs. Definitely avoid any with sugar or other sweeteners. S S <p>I was think UTI also, you can get itching and pain with a UTI. Definitely avoid any with sugar or other sweeteners. S S -- Cranberry interferes with the ability of germs to stick to mucous membranes. If you already have a UTI, just drinking a little juice won't be enough on its own but larger quantities, such as in extract form, especially if combined with something else (like chamomile poultice or other natural antibiotics) can make a difference. I know someone who used to have recurrent UTI's who did high doses of cranberry extract and goldenseal for 10 weeks and they never came back after that. -- Michele in Limbo (formerly in California) talithamichele@... Guest guest
Thanks Michele, I am off to get some cranberry extract to see if that is what is going on. I have heard you mention chamomile poulice a coupld of times before. What exactly is that? Guest guest
We did clear up a UTI in my daughter with huge amounts of cranberry juice before I heard of d-mannose and it never came back. With the dgd, it took the d-mannose a couple of times before it was gone for good. Guest guest
>>Thanks Michele, I am off to get some cranberry extract to see if that is what is going on. I have heard you mention chamomile poulice a coupld of times before. What exactly is that? ---- It's a topical application of a moist herbal treatment. I gathered together some of the comments from previous e-mails of mine and posted them here: http://healthgazelle.org/poultice.shtml If you have any questions about the details, please ask. I don't feel like that page is as organized and clear as I would like it to be. ---- >>Michele, or anybody else, would you be kind to let me know if Whole Foods sell this chamomile poultice? --- You can make chamomile poultice using chamomile tea bags. I preferred a brand where the bags did not have strings, because that made it easier to do. But when I couldn't get that, I just cut the strings off the bags. I don't think it's hard to do. Basically, you make tea the usual way, but then use the bags as a topical/transdermal delivery method (paying close attention to NOT burning anyone with the hot bags). The link above has additional instructions. -- Michele in Limbo (formerly in California) talithamichele@... Visit Michele's World! http://www.califmichele.com " Peace cannot be kept by force. Guest guest
Oops, I missed a couple of questions: >>Also, can it be used with the Flagyl? I am sorry for having this many questions but I would like to know more about the Goldenseal as well. I'm not familiar with Flagyl. Goldenseal is an herbal supplement you can get at places like GNC. I haven't used it in a long time and don't know much about it. My apologies. I wish I could tell you more. Maybe someone else will have some comments. -- Michele in Limbo (formerly in California) talithamichele@... Visit Michele's World! http://www.califmichele.com " Peace cannot be kept by force. The only time my son ever played with his penis, was when he had yeast. His yeast symptoms changed over time. In the beginning of biomedical, yeast caused other issues, but as biomedical progressed, playing with his penis was one of the symptoms. You still might try increasing the yeast protocol and see if it helps. Dana
Guest guest
My son has done THAT for a while now. It is hard to tell if he has yeast or not. We have had 3 or 4 stool analysis tests done and they only showed microscopic yeast particles and one show no yeast. But what's weird is, during chelation his anus area isn't red...anything. But aFTER chelation his anus gets red and he gets these white bumps? Could that be yeast? I'll just start giving him oil of oregano and maybe try the grape fruit seed extract for a little while and see what happens. Guest guest
Private part issues such as described might be due to elevated testosterone. High testosterone levels may be a factor in Autism -- according to more and more DANs. Suggest that you check your childs testosterone level. longingforheaven24 <mpjldalton@...> wrote: My son has done THAT for a while now. It is hard to tell if he has yeast or not. Guest guest
I added in more anti fungals yesterday, per Dana's advice. I will try to post if things improve in this area. Guest guest
My son also had no red anus problems with TD-DMSA and diet changes. But as soon as I use a DMSA suppository he is bright red down there...it almost looks painful. Then when he did BM...the suppository came right out almost as big as the one I put in. I dont think the suppositories do a thing is my point. And I had a really bad weekend with him...I just wonder if there is anything left to pull.... > > > >>He has a history of playing with his > > > > penis (we joke that besides certain cognitive stuff, finding > his > > > > privates was the only thing he did early) but it seems to have > > gotten > > > > much better with yeast management. > > > > > > > > > The only time my son ever played with his penis, was when he had > > > yeast.
