It's not the amount of metals that determines safety, it's how long ago they got there. If he doesn't have amalgams or hasn't had any shots recently he should be fine. > How much should > I give a child who is 37 pounds and 4? For ALA the dosing is 1/8 to 1/2 mg per lb of body weight, so you could conservatively start him off at 5 mgs, given every 3 hours (you can stretch it to 4 hrs at night). I don't even know what > exactly to buy I'm so clueless. This is a great place to be clueless because you can ask all the question you need/want to . Biochem ALA (alpha lipoic acid) comes in 50 mgs, so you can get empty capsules and divide them by 10. (I usually listen to music and do this after the kids are in bed.)Then fill the rest of the cap with vit C. Does he swallow caps? If not you can give it in liquid but you don't want to mix it up way in advance. I think you posted somewhere else what supps he's taking -- there's a very useful supp list in the files of this group, you can take a look to see if there are any gaps. Supps really help with side effects and generally feeling better during the process. If you have other question, ask away! Nell
