Re: remove/ For Chet, here's some easier instructions to unsubscribe

Call your ISP and ask them to Mail you an Unsubscribe Kit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I had two emotions when I read this;

1. I found it extremely funny, well thought out and written with all the wit of a truly masterful punster. Something I can appreciate.

2. I then found myself wondering who Chet was and why did he have such a problem unsubscribing. Was he so old, not computer savvy, found the sudden influx of emails to overwhelming and couldn't deal with the frustration? I didn't know.

This board does get a lot of repeat questions, and I find myself asking, "don't these guys read the archives?". But at the same time there seem to be a bigger induction of "Newbies" to our board and they are looking for answers and need to feel safe enough to ask even simple questions.

Maybe Chet became irate and hard to deal with, we still need to maintain our decency so other Newbies will know we will treat them kindly as well.

I love this board and all the information it provides. When the word about LDN gets out to the masses, where are they most likely to end up . . . right here, with all their questions, some will post, others will read in the wings and some will want out.

Can we email directly to the ones who want out? This will facilitate the "off topic" log jamb on the board and ease the departure of those trying to get off the board.

I am not writing this to embarrass anyone, I just feel we can be better humans. I apologize for this Off Topic and lengthy post.

All the best, ~ Greg in California. __________________________________________________

I don't know what other members do but whenever someone asks to be

unsubscribed I always email them privately first to inform them with

the instructions to do so. I do this so as not to clutter up this

board with the same unsubscribe message. If they continue to post on

the board I will email them privately again. If this fails it is then

I post the instructions on our discussion board. Chet was told

numerous times by many how to unsubscribe yet he continued to spam

the group.

I was only trying to add a bit of humor and not meant to belittle the

person. I am as sick as everyone else is here and do not lack empathy

for others.

yeah, I think if we lacked empathy, we'd not be HERE, so long. Sometimes I wonder why some of us do, but then I am just thankful for all you who do. Sure saves me a lot of typing ;)

I don't understand what the problem is. Every time I've tried it, it worked for me. You email, you WAIT for and locate the "reply to this email to be removed" email, then you reply to the email, and you're off the list.

With a busy group sometimes it takes a few hours for the emails to stop.

I'm sure it's just a queue problem for those who get it to work, we eventually stop hearing from them.

I wish I had THE answer, I'm sure it is frustrating.
