I know that if you have an antique auto say 1940's with the original engine, you have to add a leaded additive for it to run right. More than likely most sources of lead, and mercury are comming out of industry. They are mass pollutors. And I am only stating what I learned based on my research of environmental pollutio. I feel that mercury directly introduced into the body via needle or fillings is far more poisonous in a far higher concentration that whatever is in car exhaust. But I do agree that car exhaust is not healthy. I can tell you that diesel exhaust/fumes is known to cause cancer. In our area they have a regulation that school buses are not allowed to idle their engines longer than 5 minutes while at the school due to this hazard. It is really hard to exists in such an unhealthy enviornment and many people do not realize how bad it really is. There are days when I do not open my window because the factory pollution has wafted upwind. Sad... > > > > > > You mention vaccinations starting at birth. Guest guest
Our birth son is affected by ASD. We adopted his sister. She had some immunizations before we took custody of her. However, we have not vaccinated her since. We have declared a religious exemption for preschool. I haven't had to deal with the public school system yet. Knowing what I know now, I doubt she will ever receive a vaccine. It's an individual decision that only you can make. Pamela " Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. Now the whole family goes to a complemetary medicine practice, with an MD, a DO, and a homeopath. They do vaccinate but don;t give any trouble when people choose not to. Adter some bad ped experiences, I woudn't go to anyone who wanted to fight with me about it. I wouldn;t trust them. > What happened when it came time for school? Guest guest
Race cars use racing fuel which is unleaded but has a higher octane than what we use in our cars, some other racing cars use alcohol, such as top fuel dragsters. It depends on the engine and speed involved. None of them are using leaded gas, it is too ineffecient. We checked into this as dad drag races, and there was no way we were taking the kids near any leaded gas. The older engines required leaded gas, and a lead additive can be added, is you have an engine from the 50's or older. But most classic cars have been converted to unleaded. Hope this helps! > > > > > > > > You mention vaccinations starting at birth. Guest guest
Sorry, just saw this!!! Been away from my computer for awhile. Not vaccinating is a decision I made almost 5 years ago now and I still haven't regretted it. It is sometimes hard, many people don't understand but when it comes to the health of my children I really can't afford to worry about what other's think. My first time telling a doctor I wasn't vaccinating didn't go too well. It was disasterous actually. It was when my second son was 3 months old. I took him if for a well baby visit and when she mentioned it was going to be a big day for him, his first round of shots I told her I wasn't doing it yet. Told her I wanted to gather more information since I was still getting used to the fact that my older son was autistic. She got so pissed I swore that her head was about to start spinning around. She told me I had to which of course meant we were done in my eyes. I explained I needed to have more facts since I was ultimately responsible for what happened to my baby. She told me he was her responsibility. Never went back to her. When we moved here I called a peds office and they told me they don't see unvaccinated kids but that if I wanted to vaccinate them they would love to have my kids as patients. She really sounded shocked when I told her I wasn't changing such a huge decision for a doctor. I did find one peds doctor here who takes unvaccinated kids but didn't support me at all. I know there are a couple but many are taking that stand now. It makes many cave. You just have to be tough skinned. There are doctors out there. My friend here just had a baby and she lucked out and found a doctor who doesn't mind she isn't going with the recommended schedule. She is only interested in the Prevnar I think??? When she explained what she had in mind he said that was fine. The Prevnar and Hib are the only ones he recommends. The differences if what doctors think and how they react can be very different. I would say to be prepared for the worst and hope for an enlightened doctor!!! After all this time and seeing how my younger two kids have turned out I know I made the right decision. My younger son is a Rhogam and dental work baby so he was already predisposed to issues and even without vaccines he has a couple. He has a really good immune system though. He will be 4 in a couple weeks and he has only had one ear infection, the croup and a couple good viruses. I went to school when he was a year old. Both boys stayed with a friend who had three kids in public school. There were several times her kids would be home sick and around my boys for the better part of the day. Never did my kids get sick in the year they were with them. They would get a runny nose for a day or two but that was it. At this age my older son was sick all the time. It took a lot to get his immune system working like this, my younger son just had a good immune system. My daughter is the same way. She will be 2 the beginning of September and has never been to the doctor for being sick. The climate change has been hard on our immune systems but that kid never seems to get anything even if both boys do. She has had the croup and I think two viruses. That is quite an immune system and I think it is because it is completely intact. I didn't do Rhogam with her and she hasn't had any vaccines so her toxin exposure was really only what she got from me. I think kids can have a great immune system if we just do what we should. Boost their immunity by limiting their toxin exposure and making sure they eat a really healthy diet. We do this as best we can and then add supplements as needed. If my kids were to get something like measles I believe they would do just fine because they have a healthy immune system. They would need lots of supplements to help them but they would get over it. I hope that helps?!?! Please feel free to ask anything about my kids and vaccinations. mbrookh <mbrookh@...> wrote: Libby, When my daughter took her 3 mos old in for his first baby check 4+ years ago, the nurse asked about immunizations. My daughter told her she wouldn't be doing any. This child's older brother was lead and mercury toxic. You know what response she got from the nurse?? " Thank heavens!' Guest guest
My kids were vaccinated up until recently. At the last visit for my 10 year old they wanted to do a tetanus booster. I let them know that I was filling a religous exemption today for both of my children. That we would not be doing any further vaccination. Then I handed her the notarized papers with a copy of my state law. I know I caught her off guard, I saw her eyes bug out. She thanked me for vaccinating up to what we did (yes, Thanked) and that was all. They cannot legally question you on it if you provide proper papers according to your state law. I really didn't care what she thought anyway. They are my kids. I am the one who deals with the tons of supplements my son needs to function, and the fact that he won't poop in the toilet or act appropriately in public. They don't. There are doctors out there who are not bought and paid for. Find a holistic pediatrician of family wellness clinic. You can find resources through your neighborhood natural food store or by joining a holistic mom's group. School is the same thing. If you file the proper papers according to the state law, they cannot question you or deny you. You only get problems if you don't follow protocol. I can tell you if I had a preemie..NO WAY! Their immune systems are really underdeveloped. As are that of infants. Thus the reason they are supposed to recieve immunities through mother's milk. I would just breast feed a preemie. And not drag it all over the place when I got it home. People seem to have forgotten to stay home with a brand new baby, as did our grandmothers. And limit the number of visitors for a few weeks. I think our immune systems when untampered are designed to handle nature. > > > > , or anyone else this applies to > > > > Tell me about your experiances with NOT vacinating subsequent > children. Guest guest
Is your peds doctor going to let you go because you aren't going to vax anymore? I don't actually have a doctor for my kids right now because the one doctor I found that does take unvaxed kids is not that bright. I know there are others that I haven't really looked for as my kids haven't really needed one until now. I need to get an official diagnosis for one of my kids. I was wondering if they can't turn you away if you have a religious exemption??? I have one for all three kids. I am with you though, don't care what they think. They don't have to deal with the results, I do!!! Thanks, Jan <paxlforme@...> wrote: My kids were vaccinated up until recently. Guest guest
People love to bully us into doing things their way. Keep in mind you pay the doctor. Therefore you can pay someone else. Obviously this doctors pocket is in the big pharma and he/she doesn't want to lose out on those paid vacations and free pens. They do not have the best interest of your children in mind. Nor do they respect your rights as a parent. You really don't want to deal with them anyway. Find someone else. Just bring a religious exemption with you when you go to consult with them. I would ask around with other mom's in your area who might not vax either. > > > > > > , or anyone else this applies to > > > > > > Tell me about your experiances with NOT vacinating subsequent > > children.
