Guest guest
April: In answer to your question, Zoloft is an antidepressant. It is good for depression, anxiety, obsession-compulsive issues and more. Risperdol is an atypical antipsychotic. It is a mood stabilizer, often used to augment an antidepressant. . . or help it to function better. R. generally calms the brain. My son is on Zoloft 75 mg, and an atypical antipsychotic called Abilify (in a very tiny dosage). This combination gives him the best help he's had with depression, anxiety, and opposition. We are constantly lowering the dosages as he gets therapy to deal with the issues that are problematic for him. You may want to toy working with dosages to get your best combination. Every day I rate (from 1 to 10) my son in three categories for the doctor: 1) mood 2) self-stimulatory behaviour and 3) tiredness, lethargic mood. If you don't keep your own diary of some sort, you won't get the best dosage or best meds for your child. It all becomes a blurr after awhile.
