Guest guest
Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you all know that I did get the doctor switched back to the one my son was supposed to have seen in the first place. He had that appt last week. I think it went well. She seems nice and was interested in learning about which was good. She wants to try just the Risperdal giving the Luvox time to get out of his system before adjusting the dose. If it doesn't help she is talking about Abilify but I'm also going to ask about the Daytrana patch. She also referred him to an OT and a dietician within the same office. He saw the OT today and she was very nice. She said he definitly has severe sensory defensiveness and wants to see him once a week along with him seeing the OT at school when they get that started. She told me about a technique with a special brush that I stroke him with for a few minutes every 2 hours that she can teach me and maybe I can teach someone at the school if someone there is willing, along with moving his joints a certain way with this excersize. This is supposed to help with most of the various things like chewing on everything and constantly jumping. I was wondering if anyone else has heard of or tried anything like this and what kind of results you got out of it. I guess the dietician is going to teach me about how certain foods can help and others can make it worse. I'm hoping that won't be alot of foods he either does or doesn't like that he's supposed to have or not have!! Thanks -- Alisha
