Guest guest
Well, my meeting did not go quite like I expected. In fact my daughters teacher of record REALLY must not like me, because I talked to her the day after the meeting and I had made a comment regarding my health (I have autoimmune cirrhosis, peripheral neuropathy, fibromylagia, and quite a few others..but you get the jest.) and her teacher honestly asked me if I had ever considered letting someone else raise Kati and that it might be the best thing. She also told me that I needed to help from home like grounding her from TV, etc. I was floored. Well, today I went to the school to see if I could get the minutes from the meeting and when the secratary was helping me, here comes the teacher. She actually then asked me who had diagnosed Kati and that she doesn't see Kati as having anything but ODD (I don't even know what this is..I know what OCD is, but not ODD) and that Kati is a very defiant girl and she really doesn't think she'll make it. I thought she must be talking about college, but then she says In fact I'm positive she'll never make it past high school. GRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I played it kewl, but I am so frustrated. I explained to her that even my youngest son has AS and that I have friends online who have daughter with AS and it seems that there is a huge difference in symptoms and I don't believe enough research has been done against girls. WEll, I am going to file several complaints about the meeting and now these comments. If any of you could email me your child's story/symptoms/obstacles and possibly some forms of treatment/school adjustments that have worked, I would greatly appreciate it because I could use as many experiences as possible right now for Kati's case. Happy late NEw Year to all. Ginger keeplivingstrong@...
