Guest guest
Jake has been excited for several days about a field trip to a skating rink. I never got any corrospondance from the school about it so I called his teacher a few minutes ago, and I am still in tears. Apparently, Jake is being excluded from this field trip because he displays inappropriate behavior, even when he is in a good mood and happy he will shout inappropriate things, and another school is going to be there, so they can't do it. I told his teacher that is was not right to exclude him based on his disability. I asked why can't he have a " personal chaperone " ? She told me that they would still be unable to control him. I would have his social skills therapist go with them, but they do not allow volunteers! I can't even go into my son's class and volunteer, because I was told it would be a privacy violation to the other students, because it is an EBD program. This I need to check out. In the meantime, I'm going to keep Jake home from school that day and take him somewhere, right after I contact PACER! Thanks for letting me vent.
