Straterra and Abilify, Asperger's vs OCD

Jake has ADHD and was dx with Asperger's 2 months ago. This fit perfectly

other than he is a very loving child.

We went to the next step therapist today and now have a dx of not Asperger's

but ADHD and OCD.

Okay OCD I just don't see it. He is repetitve on facts and figures but not

the same thing over and over again. He doesn't have things that he

physically does over and over (washing hands), he just spouts off numbers,

animal

facts, etc.

I was given the criteria for Asperger's last visit and it is so identical to

him, other than he is an affectionate and loving child. That was the only

thing that didn't fit the Asperger's dx.

He has horrible meltdowns when overstimulated also and has a HORRIBLE raging

temper when provoked.

So now, he is taking Straterra and Abilify. I have never heard of Abilify.

Abilify is for bi-polar and schizophrenia, but it is a very low dose so the

therapist said it is basically just to even the mood swings out.

Anybody on this Abilify? What about this OCD dx vs Asperger's? I was not

happy today when he said OCD and not Asperger's...I know that's weird. LOL!
