When a child has a DX of autism. And has service from the school and

outside help, and the child has been getting this outside help for

years, and we see an improvement, but still getting outside help. (of

course a parent would hope the child improves). Does that mean, when

the child goes for the " 3 year eval/testing again " . the school can

change the DX??? I was told by specialist. (more than one) that if a

child has a DX of Autism/Aspergers that will never change. because

that is a Nero disability. What do you do with a school trying to

change his/her DX/classification because the student is getting better?

The school doesn't seem to understand, that the student has been

getting this outside help since she was a baby. Now that she is doing

better (thank God) doesn't mean this child doesn't have Autism

anymore. (they didn't cure him). Has anyone faced this yet? Also,

would another specialist, that is not familiar with my child, be able

to tell he has Autism even after all the interventions/outside

professional help she received, and now is doing better?
