My daughter Kati has done the same thing...she constantly wants to be

put in a boarding school. She says it will help her, but I've

learned with Kati that everything looks better to her, until she then

gets it and then it's the same kind of problems. I finally consented

to her that if she wanted to be a foreign exchange student, then I

would consider this, but going to a school abroad or like the English

do is her obsession. She loves everything from England and wants to

live that kind of life. Right now she is determined to go to Oxford

for college, but I don't know...maybe it would help your son. My mom

used to live in ville , FL and they have a school there

primarily for Asperger kids, but we don't have anything like there

around where we live. Good luck with your decision.

I find that I have to keep on top of what my son is reading. He'll come up

with stuff and apply it to his life. Ever read the " The Lost Boy " ? A

biography about growing up in the foster care system. Anyhow my son after

being admonished one day told me he was a 'bad boy' and some other thing

that should happen to him because he was in trouble.

It was a strange request indeed.

I've gotten pretty good at hearing someone else's voice in his sentences by

then and knew to check what he was reading or watching. Sure enough, it was

quotes from this book he applied to his life.

There are many things that can help him in his quest to refine his focus and

behavior. I applaud him for making such a mature decision. I did the same when I

was about 14, asking for Karate lessons. My mother was afraid of her own shadow.

She saw terror in every dust bunny. She's rubbing off on dad, but that's another

story. I took Karate, and other martial arts in between rotations in the

military. If I had taken Karate when I wanted to, I am convinced that I would

not have had but a fraction of the problems that I did have.

IMHO, Military school is not a good idea. See if there is a Boy Scouts Troop in

the area. How about a junior ROTC, or Police Auxilliary to give him a taste of

what rigorous discipline is. Then let him make up his mind.
