Guest guest
I attended a wonderful conference on Friday, but on by the RI Tourette's Society. It was about Functional Behavior Assessments and Managing Difficult Classroom Behavior. The main focus was Tourette's and coexisting conditions, but all the strategies and information was also applicable to other neurological disorders. One of the presenters was a teacher and educational specialist. She taught High School French for over 20 years. She also has Tourette's. She was a wonderful, dynamic speaker and told lots of stories with creative and " outside the box " thinking and ideas. I am going to include the link to what she basis her presentation on. It is a very well written article and I thought someone might be interested. _Tourette Syndrome Association, Inc._ (http://www.tsa-usa.org/) Here are a few other links that provide some wonderful information about strategies when writing IEP's, 504's, FBA, and Positive Behavior Plans. _RESOURCES ON SPECIAL EDUCATION, IEPS, IDEA, INCLUSION, AND SECTION 504_ (http://www.angelfire.com/ny/Debsimms/education.html)
