Guest guest
Leighanne, My son with AS is a visual learner. It was taking his FOREVER to master phonics with ease to learn to read. I found a wonderful program called Picture Me Reading which uses pictograms to illustrate the meaning of a word. My son could read Go Dog Go after just working with him for a week under this program. Here's the link to their site: http://www.picturemereading.com/ > Message 22 > From: " Leighanne Ratliff " a_cute_tx_cowgirl@...> Date: Sat May 27, 2006 8:55pm(PDT) > Subject: I need lots of help with this one.........> > Hi guys it's me again LOL.....> Well can't get enough of his ABC's and 123's and today his grandpa calls me on the phone and tells me that he thinks is ready to start trying to read. Does anyone have any idea of some good books or videos that would teach pre reading skills. It needs to be something plain and simple and nothing too flashy or he'll get distracted. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because I have NO idea where to start. Thanks so much everyone for your help once again. > > Leighanne
