Guest guest
I have a 22 year old. Puberty was hell for him. We went through exactly what you are going through. I read once where many Aspie's if they are not getting the proper treatment and supports can go psychotic. They may also be diagnosed as having bi-polar. My son did. He was extremely agressive and violent. He ended up in the hospital several times. Once my son was diagnoed with bi-polar and getting the medicines and supports for that - then we got the diagnoses for Asperger's - Once we got him the supports for that he is a totally different individual. My advice based on our experience is to get hooked up with a psychiatrist who has had experience with bi-polar children and most definitely asperger's. With patience, love, a knowledgeable health care team, and the right supports...both you and your son will make it through pubery. We did. Clemy ps feel free to email me offlist if you would like to chat more about your experience. If our experience can help you in any way I am happy to help - I also have a lot or resources that I am happy to share so that you don't have to " reinvent the wheel " .
