Guest guest
My daughter is 5 and has had the V Tech for 2 years. She loves video games and it only takes a little while for her to learn to rules of each game. I think it is good, but the educational part is a little below her. She knows her ABCs already. Some of it requires reading and spelling skills which she is just getting to, but that is only on sections of each individual game. But I prefer Leap grog pad for educational purposes. We are buying more puzzles for Christmas and maybe a doll house (she is starting to do more imaginary play the last few months. Jen > > Wow..I am so happy to hear that its not just my daughter who doesn't " play " with her toys. You know how tired I get of dusting her toys because they just sit there? LOL! My husband too has complained about not wanting to get her educational toys for birthday and Christmas..he wants real play toys (ya know the ones I have to dust) > She loves her " educational " stuff, movies and her Leap Pad. I have been wondering about the Leapster that plugs into the TV..anyone have one? What about the VTech kind? > Her newest thing is she wants Santa to bring her this huge Dora Pirate ship she saw in the store....memorized the colors ect and keeps telling us Santa will bring it...it's life size a play house type thing! Oh my...What about that train table with trains & everything that we thought was going to be a big hit for her Birthday and now it sits there...oh yeah and all the trains and tracks, now they are real pain to dust > Thanks for being there! > Hope everyone survived Thanksgiving! > - C. > Mom to Cassie 15 PCOS, Austin 13 ADHD and a 3 HFA/AS > > > Re: ( ) Re: POLL: what are you getting your aspie for Christmas? > > > I had this arguement with my husband the other day. I wanted to get our son a nintendo ds and he doesn't want to. His arguement is that Isaac already has a play station one, an xbox and a vtech system. So he wants to get him toys for christmas. While I can see his point I am frustrated with buying Isaac toys that he never touches. He loves opening the presents and then he just dumps the toy and asks to play his xbox. The $100 pirates of the carribean ship and accessories he got for his birthday is sitting untouched in his room. The only time it gets played with is when we have other kids over. I'd like to get him something this year that he'd love. But I can see my husband is right in regards to the only time Isaac is off the game system is when we are out and even then he asks if the place we are going has games there. Guest guest
Ya'll are great! Thanks for all the input on the Leapster vs. Vtech. Duplos & Legos sound like a good idea too. Thanks, - C. Guest guest
Fun Q! Sorry I'm a little late responding. We're getting our 6-year-old Aspie a washboard and two thimbles, so he can scrape the thimbles across the washboard. He is obsessed with blues musicians and blues genres.
