Guest guest
Welcome to the group. You will find this a wonderful group full of folks that are very helpful and can lead you in the right direction. My son is 13. I knew he had A.S. when he turned 7. But his originally diagnosis was ADHD and ODD. I am a stay at home mom, but have recently become a part time worker for our local autism society and I have started to do public speaking. Basically my life goal is to inform others, speak about our kids (regardless of Autism or not) and I am in school too. I have 3 boys with A.S. Somedays I wonder if I am sane or not:) To start, get the book Oasis Guide to Aspergers (borrow if from a library to see if it has what you need) They have all kinds of information that has been valuable for me. They also have a website. http://www.udel.edu/bkirby/asperger/ Check it out. Also, look for a local Autism Society. We have one here in Maine. Just google in Autism Society (state you live in) That should be a great start. It's frustrating, but it is educational for us, and Aspergers makes a lot more sense than ADHD, doesn't it? *keep posting* B > > > Hi! I just found out yesterday that my son has Asperger's Syndrome.
