Hello,

We are new to this, our son was just diagnosed AS. He is 16. I know that many

are diagnosed earlier, however, I've not kept him very involved with the doctors

over the years. He was diagnosed at 6 for ADHD, but there has always been so

much more to it. Common sense kind of things that should have been kicking in,

just wasn't. I was trying to fix things for him. I realized a few months ago

that nothing is getting better, if anything it's worse because of the social

aspect of being 16. Now we are looking at how best to help him for the future.

Does anybody have any ideas on how to explain this to family members, siblings

(Caleb is one of ten)??? What can we do as a family to accept this as a

diagnosis and help our son learn how to adjust???
