Guest guest
This is interesting . For Bridget it seems to be the opposite. She has done well in full inclusion for K5 and part of 1st grade. We are now looking at doing a combo of spec ed and inclusion. You know it may really depend upon the individuals and powers at be as to how well inclusion works for our cnildren. Also, it may be one of those things where our children grow in and out of it when the program is not strong or done really well. I am glad it is workin gfor . I hope it will work for Bridget some day again also! in SC mom to Bridget 8 ds __________________________________________________

Now this isn't scheduled or due till May but I always plan way in advance. Anyway she kept asking what I was talking about and I told her I have to plan and get notes ready for the annual. I told her I need to *mentally cover any issue that might come up. Heehee she was getting veryyyyyyyyy frustrated with me on my " pessimistic " attitude about this upcoming meeting. I told her as an advocate for Sara I must prepare for the worst and hope for the best I guess she just doesn't understand that I read emails after emails, soooo many schools out of compliance. She did say she's glad she doesn't have to battle a parent like me heehee Kathy mom to Sara 10...........IEP meeting for setting up summer school is Monday, if what I heard is true, that Sara would be in a class with 18 yr. olds, then THEY will have to provide something more appropriate

And if you let it go this year, you will still be dealing with it next year. If you get it cleared up now, then you will not have THAT issue to deal with next year. And DO get it written into the IEP!!
Guest guest
I will do that. But, they have 30 days in which to schedule the meeting and they always use the full time. By then we're in to annual meetings for next years programs. This is very frustrating. I am going to try it though. B GOD BLESS AMERICA ! Call an IEP meeting immediately and have monthly team meetings (as a parent, you are a member of this team--spell it out for the school) written into the IEP. It can go in the " Management Needs " section. nancy

Guest guest
Hi, Hoping someone can help. I am trying to mainstream my son with Aspergers and am looking at South Brunswick, East Brunswick, Edison and Metuchen. Has anyone had any experience in any of these districts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. --------------------------------- Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates. Guest guest
Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. My son is almost 8 years old. I have heard mostly positive things about Edison as I have a friend with a special needs son and he is mainstreamed with a special ed teacher. As always, nothing is perfect, but I am looking for a philosophy that embraces inclusion. The reality is that our children's education is something we will always have to fight for. ston <jjtripletmom@...> wrote: How old is your child? I have a friend who teaches in Edison.
