Guest guest
Sherry, I know exactly what you are saying. It seems they always try to hide the agression and anger in our children. It is like they try to sugar coat the autism spectrum. I to would love to be able to have people watch a show and realize that it is not only my kid that acts this way and it is not because I am a bad parent. I think they need to show the reality of our lives. On 4/9/07, s1star <s1hudson@...> wrote: > > I think it's wonderful that we're seeing so many tv programs on > autism. Guest guest
Amen to that!!!!! It's hard to explain to someone else that anger is part of his "disorder". I even find myself questioning it sometimes. Sad. Robins1star <s1hudson@...> wrote: I think it's wonderful that we're seeing so many tv programs on autism. The tv reports just refer to them as 'quirky'.I guess it's a step in the right direction that they're even talking about it, I just want to be able to tell my busy-body neighbors that they should watch such-and-such tv show so they can see other kids with autism acting out in anger when they get picked on.Just venting,Sherry Looking for earth-friendly autos? Guest guest
I am soj glad that there is so much awareness going on right now, but I have to agree about the anger issue not really being addressed. It is very hard for people to understand why your bigger kids are just not brats, but just another meltdown. It is up to us to educate people. I was thrilled to see even my HY-VEE sack had autism awareness on it. Lori and/or Robin Lemke <jrisjs@...> wrote: Amen to that!!!!! Guest guest
The link was so good, I put it on my own group website, and one other that is local. I hope that is ok. It just was so positive and well thought out. Wish programs like that (the student program to promote understanding and acceptance) exited here! > I think it's wonderful that we're seeing so many tv programs on > autism.
