Guest guest
Hello Group, I have a question for you: my son, age 9, wants to participate in his school science fair this year (which I think is great!) His older brothers have done so in the past, but they have the gift of gab, so to speak, so talking comes easily to them. My 9 year old loves to talk too, but it is the questions he may be expected to answer that I worry about. Unless someone knows him well, they are not going to understand his reasoning OR they may not know to rephrase a question posed, but only assume he does not know the answer. So, my question is, how do I, as a parent, explain to the judges (without being physically present to do so) that son has a disorder?/DO I explain? (I am not sure that it is right to compromise my son's medical confidentiality), but neither do I think it is fair to allow him to be expected to compete with his NT peers without even ground. Ideas? i.e. do I write a little note on the presentation board saying he has a disorder/is that too invasive? Thanks!
