Guest guest
My ds (age 8) was sent home from school today. His story ... he was asked to do his journal(that is always a problem) he wrote five sentences and the teacher's aide told him to write 7.(Of course his teacher was absent today and apparently the teacher's aide was trying to provoke him). He said she sent him to the other room and he got angry and started yelling swear words. The teachers aide restrained him and he told her he hated her and tipped his desk. Her story is that refused to do any work (she even sent home a blank journal sheet) all morning and was swearing and throwing things around. So she restrained him and sent him to a group. When he returned from his group he was still being aggressive and I was called. Is it too much to ask to get rid of the journal. It has been setting my son off for years (since Kindergarten). The journal was one of the first clues something wasn't right. And now we are in second grade still fighting over the journal. I am so frustrated. Are any of your aspies in a self-contained room? If so... what kind of insruction are they getting? Are they given a million worksheets and left to do them at their desk.. or are they getting the same curriculum. I need a better program for him. He is very hard to contain if he gets angry/frustrated and that is why he is in the self-contained room (it is an AI/EI combination). But... the other 2 boys in the AI room are severly autistic and then the 2 EI boys are 5th graders and very manipulative with .... SO sick of fighting... but I gotta keep going.
