Guest guest
Please keep off-topic things of a political nature out of this site. Guest guest
After all the personal information I and others have shared here, I would like to think that I could consider some of you as " friends " , what I mean by " friends " , is somewhere I can come when I am troubled with something, and a few of you will respond with empathy, advice, or a story. As parents of AS children, we all have our extra share of stress, and we need support. This board has become somewhat of a community to voice our concerns, our feelings, our worries, even if they are not always AS related. I would also like to say, that, after recently losing my 21 yr old son, my heart goes out to the families of these young men. My prayers are with them and their sons. Lastly, I would say.....THANK GOD! I am an American, IN America, with the freedom to make this post. Guest guest
Fair enough! So, rules can be broken when the moderators feel like it. As a person of Lebanese descent, I can also flood this forum with petitions asking to stop the incessant bombing campaign against civilians. But, I would never do that, because this is a place where we come to share our issues strictly related to our aspies. Once you let the cat out of the bag, there's not turning back. I got some great advice here. But, I guess its time to move on to a non-political community... where rules mean something that you do not break. Period. No matter what your personal preferences are. This is my last post here. Best of luck to everyone. --- Roxanna <madideas@...> wrote: > Well, I disagree. Guest guest
this isn't a democracy - it's a group. And besides, my friend has an AS child who lives in a war zone now so that makes it VERY appropriate that people who care support the effort to make it stop. Another thing to be clear on is that people DO post OT posts which is why we have them label the subject line " off topic. " That's a hint. If you don't care to read off topic posts, don't. Guest guest
Roxanna, I do agree that these men need to be released, however to trade P.O.W.s for prisoners in Isreal. this would be nagotiating with Terrorist.which would not stop this from happing again. Also what do we do about Iran and Syria funneling weapons to the terroist in Lebonon??
Guest guest
Roxanna, why is it that if you control the post that you would want to ailenate anyone with a need? a family member with AS. There is no reason to make your discision not to post based on your descision to break your own rules of the group. I see this as a reason for all of us to leave this group, and the wealth of infomation found here, all because of differing political views.....after all isn't the main reason we are here is to help others with like problems?? Guest guest
, The petition wasn't about that. I would agree that negotiating with terrorists is not a great idea. Guest guest
I'm not sure what you mean here, . I am not going to stop posting here at all. Anyone else can post as well as long as they are nice about it. THere is no rule that I can't post what I posted either. So I didn't break my own rule at all. Hope that helps! Guest guest
Well, you lost another member. I help moderate another group and this type of propaganda would never be allowed. It has nothing to do with AS, and it is very offensive to many people. This is NOT the place to post something political, especially when it may alienate others. You are entitled to your opinion, and this is your site, but you crossed a line that should not have been crossed. At least OASIS is still around and has a message board. Goodbye. Guest guest
Please, save the lecture. I don't care. Guest guest
Thanks , What is it with people anyway? We get OT posts from time to time and nobody says " boo " to it. I guess because they don't know this person (i.e. they are newbies here) they feel the need to chastise the way we do things. But F is a good friend here and that is just the end of the argument for me. Sometimes it was just easier when we were smaller and had relationships with eachother, KWIM? Oh well. Guest guest
I think many people don't know F very well. She and her autistic son have a long history with this group. They are living in a war zone now. Some of us have been a part of this group for 6 or 8 years now. There's not much we can do to help. What little we can do, we want to do.
