Guest guest
I am clutching my heart, lest I fall over. just fed the dog. Which he does often if I'm not around. But I'm sitting here at the computer. Usually he whines, " Mo-o-m, can you feed Sophie??? " Today, he just fed Sophie on his own and didn't make a big deal out of it. Dare I say It? That he's growing up? Liz

Guest guest
I get your feeling of excitement! My is doing dishes right now. HE was supposed to do them for my husband yesterday and forgot. This morning, I just said, " eat breakfast, and then you need to do the dishes. " He went on about his hands just waking up, etc. I just ignored it. As i was reading your post, I realized, he is putting the dishes away!!!! Good Boy's. hehehe. Don't you love the small success! He just asked if he has to load it. With my broken foot, I can't so I did a little 'please, please " and he reluctanctly said, " I will do SOME! " I didn't even ask. I love it! *smiles* B > > I am clutching my heart, lest I fall over. just fed the dog. > Which he does often if I'm not around. But I'm sitting here at the > computer. Guest guest
Oh, yes, a grand deal! I can relate as well: I sent my son to the store for a packet of stamps this week. He is 10, and I had the exact change for him, but still sending him off to the store on his own was a big thing. Guest guest
Way to go, and ! Sometimes these incapacities on our part (such as broken legs), painful as they are, can be growth experiences for our children. I have an autoimmune disease that leaves my joints painful, and I don't like to do things like lift heavy boxes. So guess who got to cart 20 boxes off to the garage? Yup. . And he did a good job, too. It's fun to see our kids grow up. And a little anxiety provoking, to be honest... Guest guest
Velvet, That IS a big thing. And so important. Good for him! And good for you for trusting him enough to let him go. Guest guest
Wah....Nobody growing up here. lol. Still waiting! argh. I use your animal " logic " with the two youngest. When the cats meow, I will say, " Gosh, what do you think Moosh wants? " They both are fairly good about helping to feed and water the pets. But my 17 yo will just ignore me completely. Guest guest
Hey thanks:) Yes, you are right, as we celebrate the successes, we do get a little of the anxiety feeling, don't we? Our kids are growing, and sometimes so fast. WoW!! Yeah, I also don't like pain, but, being a mom , I just deal with it. I am impressed with your , 20 boxes, and he did well... Wow!!! Have a great night! *smiles* lisa B > > Way to go, and ! Sometimes these incapacities on our part > (such as broken legs), painful as they are, can be growth experiences > for our children.
