Guest guest
Hi Jayne: Interesting you should mention this. I am on the Enbrel study at the Minor & Clinic in Seattle along with 11 other subject/participants. Last month, I was given a pneumonia vaccination shot prior to the monthly blood samples being taken. Next month, I think, they will be able to tell if I have developed antibodies based on the vaccination. I would surmise they are in the process of developing (or already have) a pneumonia vaccine. You might ask your rheumy if they know of such a development and inform us all of their response. They ask how current my vaccination is at the time I get my flu shot in the fall. I have had a lot less chest congestion and no pneumonia since taking these shots. > > > >
Guest guest
Does anyone have a toddler with AS that gets sick continuously with something?
Guest guest
My son is not a toddler but is sick constantly. It started to get bad when he was a toddler because he was around other kids more. He has severe allergies, asthma, reflux, hiatal hernia, and an immune problem. He has been better since being treated for the immune problem a couple of years ago but it still seems like he is sick all the time this time of year. We have been to the doctor 4x in the last month. He doesn't really process pain and has a very high tollerence. Things like ear infections that you can't see get bad before I know to treat him. I have no answers for you other than to insist the doctor check for immune problems and allergies. They are common in Autistic kids.
Guest guest
My son is 7 and also has severe constipation. Can I ask what med your son takes? My son is not taking anything and probably should be. Thanks,Ann Re: ( ) Illness Hello, I don't have a toddler, but since my son was a toddler till present he has serve constipation problems. He would be on medication for constipation for a long period of time, then have normal B.M.'s & off the medication for a while, then, back on the medication, this was since he was one year old, he is now 8. He continues to go on and off the medication as needed. LeAnn Lang <leannlang@...> wrote: Does anyone have a toddler with AS that gets sick continuously with something? Guest guest
Hi Ann, my name is . My son also has severe constipation & is on a daily dose of laxative called Glycolax. He has something the drs call Encopresis. The laxative helps with the constipation but we are still working on bathroom training since this wasn't recognized until about 2 yrs ago & he has to learn how things work the right way. Extra fruits & fiber wasn't enough help for him & he's much more pleasent when his belly isn't so backed up. I enjoy reading the posts & realizing that I'm not alone...sometime it sure feels like I am. I look forward to sharing & gathering more information.~ > Does anyone have a toddler with AS that gets sick continuously with > something? > > > > > >
