Guest guest
We have applied to get a into our states (NC) More at 4 Program, it is a preschool program done through the school systems. I received a phone call yesterday stating that we made $600. a year to much money to qualify...but the director was writing a letter to petition that she be able to get in any way because of her Autism (that is how the school system classifies ASD/HFA/AS) They woman I spoke to said she thought it would go through because he, the director, normally gets what he petitions for. She asked if we wanted a to stay 1/2 day or full day...and once again I told her we wanted 1/2 day 3 days a week and I would be there at the beginning to help a transition. I cant fathom how she will do I have never been able to leave her except at our church nursery. I do think she has made progress in the 1 hour, once a week she currently goes to a classroom...but it still scares me that she will slip through the cracks and be un noticed because if you don't know what to look for you will not understand her or it will be to late and there will be major issues, meltdowns ect. How did you guys get through this? We will have an IEP meeting before school starts and I have copied tons of IEP stuff already to reference but I don't want to be the overprotective mom...just the advocating mom :-) - C. Guest guest
You can never be too overprotective when it comes to a special needs child! You advocate for her girl! Get her what she needs - only you as a mother know exactly what will help her to succeed. > > We have applied to get a into our states (NC) More at 4 Program, it is a preschool program done through the school systems.
