ZymePrime and medications

We started our son (6) on Zymeprime 2 days ago, planning to add in

Peptizyde after a few days. He was very hyper that first day,

although we only used 1/4 capsule before breakfast.

Yesterday we used about 1/8 cap before each meal and snack, only 1

cap in total all day. In the evening he had a couple of brief

seizures (blinks and lip twitches) which surprised us as he's been

seizure free since reaching current dose of Lamotrigine 3 weeks ago.

Could this have anything to do with the enzymes? I did read in

's book that enzymes can increase absorbtion of medications and

make them more effective, but this looks almost as if effectiveness

has been reduced. It's not a time-released one, by the way.

I'll give it a few more days before panicking about enzymes - they

were much smaller seizures than he has had in the past, but if they

got bigger I'd be too afraid to continue.

Anyone had a smiliar experience?

Are you using the Zyme Prime (with cellulose) or the HN-Zyme Prime

(with rice bran)?

The HN-Zyme has papain and bromelain which some kids are sensitive.

Do chemicals/foods like that trigger any twitching? I don't suppose

you significantly changed what he was eating?

Call Devin Houston and ask him his opinion. Usually mild adjustment

effects are normal but seizures can be serious (in my opinion). This

is a new experience reported, actually. So instead of just holding

and going slow (which is generally helpful expect for the seizures),

wait until you get more feedback or confirmation from either Devin or

you medical person.

How do you give the Lamotrigine? Even if it isn't time-release (which

I would have asked, so thank you), is it a pelleted tablet of some

kind? It is a bit hard to imagine that little of Zyme Prime having

that significant effect on the medication. But perhaps the tablet did

dissolve faster than usual. What are any 'side-effects' of more med?

I don't blame you. However, this hasn't been reported with enzymes

before.
