Could be yeast? My son gets hyper and burpy with yeast. Debbie

Even if it isn't brand new, it is new to your son. It could be some chemical sensitivity along with any anxiety. >>>Is there something I can give him to reduce this anxiety. I have talked to him and told him that there is nothing to worry but I think it will take time for him to feel safe there. As far as supplement, magnesium helps as well as getting very good sleep. As for management, is there something that he can take with him or do that will give him a sense of control in the situation? My older son loves to draw, so he carries a pencil and paper with him. This way he always has something to do if he gets uncomfortable. Even if he doesn't draw, just having it as a backup security helps greatly. Another thing might be to make sure he knows what is expected of him. Having homework organized and ready. It is the unknown and not knowing the boundaries that cause anxieties in my kids. . Guest guest
Hi Vinutha, Just thought I'd mention that my son " burps " (like he forces air in and out of his throat, though very quietly) and laughs a lot while toe running. Both of these things I know are related to his need for vestibular (inner ear) stimulation. He especially uses the burping when he's trying to settle himself down on his own, like before falling asleep at night. Perhaps your son is vestibular seeking as well, and these things comfort him. Are there appropriate means of stimulating the inner ear that wouldn't be so distracting to the class? Perhaps he could chew gum, or suck on hard candy? I admit I haven't dealt much with this particular aspect of my son's autism, so I don't have any ready ideas. Here is a sensory group: sid_dsi/ I haven't been on that board for a long time, but perhaps they might have some ideas for you. HTH, > Hello, > My son just started high school. Guest guest
I was also thinking yeast. My son burps a lot w/yeast. Sometimes he even seems to be forcing the burps as if he has some control of them. > In a message dated 8/29/2004 6:53:09 PM Central Daylight Time, > chendu@j... writes: > > > > His aid has reported that he has been burping > > all day and laughing hysterically and loudly. > > Could be yeast?
