Guest guest
, We did that and it was unbearable for my 2 1/2 yr old. She really flipped out (major die-off). We gave her a two week break and started again, one at a time. First ZymePrime, then Pep and then after a month or so, No fenol. We started with a quarter capsule with zyme, then inched it up over a week or 2 til we were at a whole capsule. The same with pep. No fenol even slower because it can really cause yeast die-off. I'm sure it's different with different kids, but this worked for us. She's in a much better mood now! > Thanks to those who responded to my pickyness post. I have one more question... > > When starting the enzymes do you start them all together? Im going to do AFP Pep, ZP, and No-Fenol. From what I can tell you just start them all and have a 3 week " transition " time to build up and deal with side effects. > > Thank You > > >
Guest guest
Your best bet is to introduce the enzymes one at a time at small amounts. You want to give your child's body time to adjust so you don't have major die-off. Start with Zyme Prime with maybe a 1/4 capsule and build up to a full capsule over a week or two depending on how sensitive your child is. Then add AFP Peptizyde the same way. Then add the No-Fenol and go even slower with the No-Fenol is what is suggested. Good luck to you. Theresa > Thanks to those who responded to my pickyness post. Guest guest
Hi My son has been GFCF for approximately 8 weeks. The first 3-4 weeks were amazing. Sleeping really good, increased vocabulary, more focus. The last 4 weeks have been a slow descend to where we were before prior to the diet. We believe he had a infraction a week ago and is now very phenol intolerant. His stools are amazing. Large, very loose and a LOT of undigested foods. We are about to begin enzymes and I wanted to know which one to start first. I wanted to start the no-fenol as phenols seem to be the biggest issue. Can I start with that one? Or, should I start with the zyme prime (sp?)? He may also have corn issues. We are trying to eliminate corn as much as possible. We have given him some epsom salt lotion and it doesn't seem to be helping. THANKS for any input. I am starting to feel so desperate and want to do anything to help him. Guest guest
Janna, My son (also 3, ASD) has been on all 3 of houston's enzymes for almost 7 months now. He was non-verbal prior and is not not only speaking but talks all day long. Granted, I can only understand maybe 30% of it but, it's increasing everyday! As for using enzymes to replace the GFCF, my son is not and never was on any type of restricted diet. He eats whatever he wants as long as he has his enzymes during his meal. He has improved eye contact, interaction, attention span, and willingness to learn, affection, etc. The only side effects we experienced were some crankiness and whininess for about 2 weeks. Well worth it, though. He truly is a different child. As for dosage, I didn't have this group when I started so I dove in with 1capsule each at every meal. However, you should go to www.enzymestuff.com. This is 's website and it explains everything! Good luck and I hope this helps. Sincerely, Tracey, mom to Nick, 3-ASD
