Guest guest
Hi, we've recently started using enzymes - Peptizyde, increasing slowly from 1/4 cap. Before this our son was casein free, but not gluten free, and we haven't added casein back in yet. Last week we hit the 3/4 - 1 capsule per meal mark, and we started to see changes, so we figured we had reached the dose at which the enzyme was digesting all casein and gluten. We keep getting one red ear at teatime every night (which we got when we withdrew casein, so I know that's a withdrawal symptom), and he's a little more short tempered and emotional than usual. Also, we've been getting periods of very very articulate language mixed in with periods where he struggles to find the words he wants. My question is, are these typical responses to not getting gluten into his brain, and how long should I expect this to last? (I know every child is unique, but if there's an average it would make life easier) I'd be grateful if anyone can help. By the way, my son is six (in case that matters on how long withdrawal is).
