Guest guest
Agrisept is what I have found to be effective for GI disturbances such as viruses (and even food poisoning). It's a combination of grapefruit seed, tangerine seed, lemon seed and lime seed. It's a MLM product, sold by EYI distributors, and so perhaps not so easily gotten a hold of. Perhaps someone could recommend a good quality grapefruit seed extract that might be as effective. A couple of months ago, some GI thing was hitting people that I knew. I had just gotten off of the phone speaking with a friend who had been fighting it for five days (diarrhea, vomiting, no appetite, weakness), and I had just gotten through saying to my husband " I am so glad that I'm not vulnerable to stomach bugs " (no kidding...the words had just left my mouth) when I felt this profound weakness hit me. As I wondering just what in the heck was going on, my intestines started to rumble. By the time I got out the veggie cap, which I put the Agrisept into (about 20 drops), my hands were shaking pretty badly from the weakness (it hit that quick and that hard), and I was spilling the Agrisept all over the capsule. I remember thinking how terrible it was going to taste, but whatever this bug was, it also caused my tastebuds to stop working. I didn't taste the Agrisept at all. Anyone who has ever taken any kind of seed extract can tell you that it has a very distinctive taste. Ten minutes later, I felt the need to take another 20 drops. After this, I began to feel more normal, but two hours later, the weakness came back, and I needed another 20 drops. After that, I was fine for a couple of days. The weakness did come back again two more times during the next week or so, but the Agrisept got me back to feeling normal within 15 or so minutes. I always have a bottle of Agrisept on hand because it also neutralizes (pretty much immediately) wasp and even scorpion stings. I have personal experience with this. I do not know if GSE alone will have the same effect. Perhaps someone else has some information regarding this. Carol Lively Bad Stomach Virus Has hit our house...are probiotics the best defense? What about activated charcoal? any other ideas beyond rest and lots of fluids would be greatly appreciated...as this thing is lingering beyond 72 hours... Guest guest
Probiotics and lots of proteases. If you have a strong protease product (peptidyze, virastop, bromelain, etc) just give a bunch of that. I aim for 4 capsules every 3-4 hours all day. More if you like. It can really punch the problem. If you want to take grapefruit seed extract or oregano (oregacyn is an interesting one), do that along with the enzymes. .

Olive leaf extract and GSE work really well here, provided of course that you don't just vomit them back up. Dana
