Guest guest
It's not AS- no one knows what to buy an 18 year old girl...not even another 18 year old girl! OT: Aspie Christmas shopping I'm AS and have been Christmas shopping for family. Wow if anything demonstrates the Theory of Other Minds it's Christmas shopping. I'm a male trying to figure out what an 18 year old female would like. Damn, this is hard. Can anybody else relate?
Guest guest
Heck, I can't figure out what a 13-year-old wants. I'm even having trouble with my six year old granddaughters. CDs are a say thing for my 13 year old, but how many of those can you give. OT: Aspie Christmas shopping I'm AS and have been Christmas shopping for family. Guest guest
Might I make a suggestion? What about a visa gift certificate card or just a gift certificate to a favorite store? > > I'm AS and have been Christmas shopping for family. Guest guest
A gift card makes a wonderful gift and you can't go wrong with it. MISSY SAHM to some special kids!!! I am who I am because that's who I am --, 5 All kids are gifted; some just open their packages earlier than others. -- Carr Re: OT: Aspie Christmas shopping Might I make a suggestion? Guest guest
That's what I am thinking about doing with a few relatives. Not only are they easy to get, they are cheap to send. Guest guest
I agree, this is a very typical thing. I have had a hard time with my nephew for years because what he likes is the opposite of what my boys like (my boys are always quite happy with office supplies and legos). And 18 yr old girls are tough particularly if you are a single fellow (and not a relative). Do you give something more personal...or is that too personal...or will she interpret it as personal...or will she get mad if it isn't at least a teeny bit personal... A gift card to a book store was always a safe bet for me...they have many other things in the store besides books. I am going to see if there is such a thing as movie gift certificates for my nephew this year. He is very social and loves to go out with friends. . Guest guest
How about a gift card to Bath and Body Works? That's a pretty safe bet as far as the personal/not too personal issue. Lori Getz
Guest guest
I love it - my son absolutely loves office supplies - we set him up with his own office in the basement. The one place I never have to ask twice about going to is Staples. :^) > > I agree, this is a very typical thing. Can anybody else relate? My husband will go up to another female in the store who is approx the same age as the person he wants to buy for, and ask for ideas. For adults in my family, instead of " gifts " , I buy books of stamps. Lots easier, and everyone needs stamps! It is not fun, I can certainly relate. Good luck.
