Guest guest
When my ds was 3yo he used to eat alot. It turned out to be bacteria . Once we got it under control his appetite was normal. He has all the AS traits except social. He receives therapies needed. We homeschool so a diagnosis has not been needed. Lynn undiagnosed but I suspect.. that my Max who just turned 7 is mildly autistic. He has some symptoms but not " enough " .... gaze never really meets your eyes unless you insist, and then it doesn't hang there very long, (when I ask him why he says " it hurts " , speech delay until we had major therapy. all he could say at age 3 was all the difficult dinosaur names, no sentences, not many other words muscle tone is not good voracious appetite I can't remember if there is anything else that corresponds to the symptoms, but here is the problem I am dealing with now: He is 4' tall and 81 pounds, and I really need to control that appetite. He comes home from school and wants to eat more than I did the whole day. He cries when I don't give him food as he tells me he hurts so much. I am trying to give him a multivitamin, calcium, fish oil, cod liver oil, acidophilus, and zinc. Is there anything else I should consider? Please help. If you all can think of anything else I should be doing, even non-dietary, I would love to hear it. Thank you,

My son would eat like that, if he was eating foods or supplements he did not tolerate, and when he had a yeast issue. Does he want specific foods? > I am trying to give him a multivitamin, calcium, fish oil, cod liver > oil, acidophilus, and zinc. Is there anything else I should consider? Enzymes. Guest guest
- My daughter is NLD/Asperger's and says " it hurts " to look, too. Hates eye contact unless she is very comfortable and familiar (literally family-type close). Less stress better eye contact. Hypotonia " in patches " and fatigues extremely easily. Although she was is a former kindergarten dinosaur diva she was so highly verbal that we were missed the ASD trail when early interventions may have made a big difference socially. She's very very isolated, now. Still needs cueing and minimal distraction to eat meals or drink water. When she was in school, the worst days always corresponded to no lunch eaten and no fluids. I'd love it if her apetite was good. She's overweight but it's more like puffiness from histamine reaction or being toxic. Is your son eating at school? Could he be craving something that causes him trouble? Is he in a growth spurt? Are you using the Epsom Salt baths? Not much help, here, I'm afraid. Dana always has good ideas! Hope you find what will help Max, and take away his pain, soon. Keep us posted... .... undiagnosed but I suspect.. that my Max who just turned 7 is mildly autistic.
