My oldest had serious sleep issues. A good combo of mag/cal/zinc

worked wonders for him. Also, for me.

Valerian root also helps. I use it and melatonin. I only add the valerian when

she hits a spell of waking up at night.

Sleep issues too!

What can I gave Jane to help her (and I) sleep better? Someone

mentioned Melatonin? Are there others?

Thanks from woman of a thousand questions,

We've been giving my 4 yr old ASD son melatonin for about a year now

and it has really helped. We cut the pill into quarters and put it

in small gluten free brownie. It takes about a 1/2 hour to 45

minutes after that for him to fall asleep. He still has nights where

he wakes up around 3 and is up for 2 hours, but they are much much

less frequent than they used to be. Which is so great, because I

really have my most desperate moments when I'm up with him in the

middle of the night! It really makes you think about how messed up

they are biologically that they can't sleep through the night.

I know some people on the board have mentioned time-released

melatonin which I haven't tried; the regular melatonin has worked

well enough for us that I've put that issue on the back burner for

now.

Wishing you some sleep-filled nights!

For my son, at first sleep problems were related to phenol intolerance

and yeast

As biomedical progressed, sleep issues were caused and resolved by

other things, but I would start with phenols and yeast because those

are more common reasons.
