Hi Bev & Eveyone else

I am no doctor but I had to learn the hard way. From what I have managed to

deduce the adrenal glads produce a hormone called cortisol in the body. Under

stress these adrenal glands produce so much that they get exhausted and need

feeding. When these adrenal glads produce too much cortisol it imbalances the

other hormones in the body - if it is really bad then it is one of the causes of

yeast/candida.

The three ginsengs that I take are Siberian ginseng, Panax ginseng &

Ashwaganda ginseng. I take a much higher dose of Ashwaganda than the others -

for me this has worked best. Depending on how bad you are feeling you will find

through slowly adjusting your dose.

Also, my cholestrol was found to be very high as a result of my thyroid being

too low. My doctor put me on beta sitosterol & red yeast rice and in six months

my cholestrol came down to normal. I add that I am a skinny person and the old

thought that only fat people get high cholestrol is really inaccurate - I am

proof of this.

Wishing you all good health.

Nora.

noraalves Wed May 9, 2007 5:21 am (PST) Hello Everyone

Someone was asking about what to take for adrenals. I found that taking ginseng

(especially ashwaganda - there are three, siberian, panax & ashwagand) helped

enormously. Be careful to start on a low dose per day first, and then slowly

increase it after three/four days by 50% and so forth, seeing how you feel. I

have also read that early grey hair is one of the symptoms of seriously worn out

adrenal glands - and yes, my grey hair has started to reverse back to its

natural colour ! I believe the medical way of treating adrenals is by using

Cortef /cortisol treatment.

Wishing all better health.

Nora

spcercone Tue May 8, 2007 9:02 am (PST) I have adrenal issues for sure and that

combined with the hypothyroidism is

ruining my quality of life. What worked for you in regaining balance and

supporting your adrenal system????
