Guest guest
Hi all, My autistic son, , recently started banging his head for no reason - not frustrated, not upset. No new supplements that corresponded with the onset of headbanging. (started glyconutrients 2 weeks prior, molybdenum several days after as we had planned before this started). He will be alone in his room reading a book, or in the bathtub, or just sitting quietly and all of a sudden he'll bang his head pretty hard. When I ask him if his head hurts, he looks at me in a pained way and says, " Yes, " but it is after the fact, so of course it hurts! Anyone have any ideas? The only time he's been a real head banger before was when he was dumping copper too fast...Maybe the new supps are dumping copper? If anyone has any other ideas, I'd sure appreciate them. Today I noticed he's showing signs of yeast, too. Gave him some GSE. But the headbanging really started at a relatively uneventful time... WHAT DO PEOPLE GIVE FOR HEADACHES? I know we can't do aspirin/white willow bark (salicylates) or tylenol (sulfation issues), but I haven't been able to find dye-free Motrin locally. I've been putting him in the bathtub to soothe him, but as mentioned, he's banging his head in there too... Thanks in advance for the help!!!! , mom to and , who wishes you all could have been at the CASD conference in Long Beach because it was a wild mix of amazing speakers and there were only about 100 of us maximum there at any one time... If I say " no " to him at all, he goes > off on a tirading monologue against himself like " I said NO!!! THAT IS NOT > OK. YOU NEED TO LISTEN!!!! YOU DO NOT PINCH!!!!! etc etc etc... " > > He wants the top of his head rubbed. Possibly phenol intolerance or yeast issues. I get sort-of like this [except of course I am not allowed to rage LOL] when I have a systemic yeast issue. Guest guest
I would imagine it would feel better if you WERE allowed to rage! It seems to be a monumental effort for him to contain those feelings. We've been giving GSE and No Fenol for the yeast for three days, so now I'm getting anxious about bacteria. Is there anything that will work on yeast AND bacteria? I've also upped his Primal Defense. Thanks! Re: HEADBANGING > > > He is really raging right now, too. Guest guest
You might want to think about pulling the glyconutrients and molybdenum even though it was two weeks ago you intro'd them. My son recently had a terrible reaction to the B6 I had added several weeks earlier. It took me days to wonder about the B6, and sure enough, when I pulled it, the behaviors went away. I know it's so hard to pull something you've researched and really wanted to get moving on, but just in case, it might be better to find out now? Hope you isolate the problem soon. > Hi all, > > My autistic son, , recently started banging his head for no reason - not frustrated, not upset. The yeast-headache is NASTY and I can barely focus my thoughts. > We've been giving GSE and No Fenol for the yeast for three days, so now I'm > getting anxious about bacteria.
