Guest guest
I suspect yeast from what you've said, die off can cause behaviours, strange poops, musty smelling wee all sorts. Give it a little more time Mandi in UK Now, do others think that this is yeast or something else? It was my general feeling that it probably was but I'm always unsure. Another thing -- he doesn't normally have unformed stools. Typically they're formed. When he first started the nystatin they were less formed. Now they seem to be fairly formed again. Is this a sign that there is NOT die-off or he doesn't have yeast?
Guest guest
My son had to use antibiotics a lot when he was little due to recurrent ear infections. About a month and a half ago, he had another and we used antibiotics. Around that time (I believe), his behavior generally went downhill. He has always been aggressive but the aggression has gotten somewhat worse and his general behavior has gone downhill quite a bit. He used to sort of 'scream' a lot and say " don't scream " but stopped that up until the time he used antibiotics again. Now he is doing it all the time. We talked to his doctor and she decided that the 'anti-yeast' protocol sounded like a decent idea. Basically you take nystatin over a period of time and reduce the amount of yeast in the diet. He just started this a few days ago and his behavior hasn't been too good. Now, do others think that this is yeast or something else? Well, you need to reduce or remove sugars, and for some kids reduce carbs. Not sure what you mean by " reducing yeast in the diet " . The behaviors can be yeast die off, or they can be a reaction to any new foods you have introduced. Or both. It can also be a bad reaction to the Nystatin. If this is regular commercial Nystatin, it contains dyes and flavors [and sugar], so you might consider giving it with No-Fenol enzyme.
