Guest guest
My daughter is 12 years old and has had diabetes since she was 14 months old. Her sugar control was very good when she was younger but now that she has more control of her diabetic care and is approaching the puberty, her blood sugars are running higher than normal. We are working with her endocrinologist to get her in better control. I have begun using enzymes with her younger sister who is having a yeast problem that we are treating with probiotics and multiple protease. We just starting the treatment two weeks ago and I am liking the results so far. I am curious to know if anyone has ever tried enzymes to help control diabetes. Since higher amounts of sugar in the blood would be a great environment for yeast growth I am thinking that the same treatment I am giving my daughter without diabetes will help my daughter with diabetes. I know it won't cure the diabetes but may be it will help control the blood sugar levels. If anyone has any information regarding this, I would be very interested to hear from them. Thanks! Guest guest
My understanding is that Dr.Joan Fallon has patent protection for that indication as she views diabetes as a dysautonomic condition. Rich
Guest guest
I looked at the patent you are referring to, the claims only specify using secretin as a therapy, not enzymes. Guest guest
I have no " official information " , but I will say that I've been diagnosed as having Gestational diabetes. I've been on enzymes during the duration of my pregnancy, but have stopped the past 4 days, as I'm approaching my due date, and the enzymes are blood thinners. What I can say from experience is that my blood sugar levels are the same. I expected them to drop, thinking that my body would not be breaking the food down as well as the enzymes and would therefore make the subsequent sugars from the carbs less accessible to my body. I will say that my ketone output is higher without the enzymes, and this is dangerous from what I've been told, perhaps it is the protein not being digested properly without the enzymes.I can't wait to go back to school, the absolute enormity of what I don't know, overwhelms me.----- Original Message ----- From: " donna_hrtmn " <donna_hrtmn@...> < > Sent: Tuesday, November 30, 2004 8:22 AM Subject: Enzymes and diabetes > > > > My daughter is 12 years old and has had diabetes since she was 14 > months old.
