hi everybody...

new on this site, but my son has been gfcf for 1 1/2 yrs. he has

pdd, and is basically nonverbal, except for the last 2 weeks, he has

been really trying to get those words out.

anyway, i happened upon the enzymestuff site and read anecdotes from

parents about successfully going off gfcf with even more gains b/c

of the use of certain enzymes from houston nutraceuticals: no

phenol, zyme prime and peptizyde.

has anyone here attempted this?

if so, what are your recommendations as far as dosage, etc. he

weighs 39 lbs.

also, my daughter has just been dx'd with auditory processing

disorder. she has slight sensory, sleep and hyperactivity issues,

but not enough to put her on the spectrum. she is mainly gfcf,

too. but i don't freak if she eats something not gfcf. does anyone

know if the enzymes would be beneficial to her as well?

also, i have an 11 week old son who i am breastfeeding. does anyone

know if they are safe for me to take?

last question, i looked up threelac b/c i read a post in here about

it. there were very promising testimonials on the site, boasting

the ability to get rid of candida in 2 weeks time. is this really

the case? and again, is it safe for infants, and/or breasfeeding?

thanks anyone who has some thoughts...

I am by no means an expert on this stuff, but I can tell you of my

experiences. My son is 3.5 and he was gfcf for 5 months before going

on a food strike. We let him back on a normal diet with peptizyde and

zyme prime before each meal. He had no regressions and our DAN doctor

feels that we may have healed his gut in those 5 months. We have been

back on a regular diet since March and is doing well, except for

a stomach ache (I think) that lasted until 2 am last night. I am

wondering if I should add No Phenol too?

is about 32lbs. and he gets each of the enzymes in his rice milk

before any meal and a 1/2 or a whole of each before each snack. From

what I have read, you cannot OD or get sick from too many enzymes. I

would say it would be worth a try on your daughter as well - cannot

hurt.

Good luck and I hope your son's continues to try to get those words

out - good for him!!!

My son left gfcf with HNI enzymes, altho he did need OTHER foods

removed until the end of chelation.

Start 1/2 capsule of one of the enzymes, gradually working up to

giving it with all meals. Then add 1/2 capsule of the next enzyme, etc.

Probably.

I know several parents who are nursing infants and use enzymes.
